    Wlad was more boring, yes.

His last defense against Fury was the ultimate borefest.

People appreciate his accomplishments more now that he's retired. But waiting for his boring, tedious reign to end was an eternity.

The Wlad-Povetkin and Wlad-Chambers fights are all but unwatchable. Emanuel Steward was so frustrated during the Chambers fight (because Wlad refused to open up on a guy who couldn't punch a lick) ... that Steward began cursing Wlad in the corner in the later rounds.

If you want someone to NEVER become a boxing fan, show them those two fights. They'll be the worst two hours of your day.

Never found Wlad that boring really, glass cannons are always fun to watch for me just because they could end the fight or be ended at any time

Wish he was more aggressive in some of his fights but I'd rather watch a post-KO Wlad fight than a post-KO AJ fight

Couldn't take that from Fury. He's more exciting than Wlad. That's not saying much, really

I always thought his destruction of prime Chagaev was very underrated. Unreal offense shown by Wlad that night.

Same with the Byrd fights. Especially the 2000 one. That was prime Byrd he shut out. Not many could do that.

Sure, agree. At his best he was a great watch. At his worst - let's be honest - he was as bad as Floyd.

It is not about that, the guy was devaluing his ATG status because he was boring, that is pathetic.

Wladimir was hated because he was East European and not American or British, he was not boring.

The only really dull fights he had were against Povetkin, because he held too much (should have been DQed), and against Fury, who fought like a coward and would not engage.

No, show them any of Mayweather's fights, like Mayweather-Berto and Mayweather-Guerrero. Floyd never even tried to stop those overmatched opponents, he just ran out the clock for boring UDs.

Waiting for Floyd Mayweather's boring, tedious reign to end felt like an eternity.

There wasn't a point in time when he could reasonably take on Lewis.

Klitschko had his debiut in '97, and by the end of '98 found himself stopped by Purity. Unless he changed trainers or began to improve drastically, throwing him at Lewis within the next year or two would have been an assisted suicide. The man was a complete, long-reigning champion (Golota, Morrison, Briggs, Mercer, McCall, Akinwande, Bruno, Tucker, Ruddock already beaten at that point). Through 2001 to 2002 Lewis was busy with Rahman rematch and the Tyson cash fight, before substitute Vitali made an argument as to why he should hang the gloves.

Wladimir just wasn't it and did not have the physical attributes nor genius talent to take on the undisputed champion so fast after his pro debiut, on top of suffering two setbacks in Purrity and Sanders. At that point Vitali actually advised him to pursue another career. It was not until Steward that Klitschko really blossomed.

Wlad was ring magazine #1 contender for more than 2 years between 00-03. NOBODY remembered or talked about the Purrity fight. There was so much anticipation for a Lewis-Wlad showdown that they even had a cameo in Oceans 11.

Lewis for his part at the time was picking easy fights and avoiding perceived tough matchups. He dropped 2 of his belts to chase the drug addicted corpse of Mike Tyson. He avoided his mandatory opponent Chris Byrd in spite of the IBF giving him plenty of extra time to honour it. There was an ESPN poll which asked who people wanted to see as Lewis next opponent, Tyson or Byrd and Byrd won the poll so you can’t repeat the lie that nobody wanted to see that fight.

Wlad fought everyone. Fury's a wannabe reality TV star and looking at Floyd as a business model. A lot of successful boxers are NOT highly entertaining to watch. Boxing isn't face first punching. Hell, if we had this board 30 years ago, EVERYONE would be hating on Pernell Whitaker. "He's feather fisted....He's boring...", that stupid sh!t.
