You are right that Matchroom's reputation have been damaged colossally. Now the common boxing fan has found out just how cynical Eddie Hearn is and how far he is prepared to go.

 

I think they do care, they've just completely miscalculated how much their actions have annoyed everyone. Normally promoters can keep quiet for a bit and wait for everything to blow over, a bit like Whyte against Rivas, but this whole incident is unprecedented. I always feel every few months that pass, they drum up some noise about Benn and test the water to see if people are starting to forget, but it just won't happen in this case. Aside from the Matchroom fan boys, everyone is really against what they've done, what ever they try and spin just isn't working.

 

I’m glad to see Conor back, no matter what you think of him he’ll bring excitement back to British boxing and is probably the biggest draw outside Fury and AJ.
