Each to their own of course but what’s exciting about him fighting old men then going on like he’s just knocked out Mayweather afterwards?
Eubank Benn will be a great build up and exciting fight, Benn will always go for even if it is to his detriment. His pre-pop interviews are pretty class too
That’s shocking and shows Hearn to be the slimeball rat that he is. I imagine he won’t be getting much access now, just because he was asking questions that should have been asked months and months ago. Grim sport at the moment, thank god we have a decent fight on tomorrow night.
Every now and then you get to see the real Hearn don't you? Not the polished, jovial showman that he'd like you to think he is but the snarling, arrogant, narcissistic w4nk3r that lurks just below the surface.
There’s been loads of stories about him being an entitled bully since he was a kid because daddy made a few quid out of promoting snooker and nothing seems to have changed. He should have binned Benn off, because his reputation is in tatters and the likeability factor is long gone. Most likely they will leave boxing after DAZN dump them for wasting their money and delivering next to nothing return.
Switch this the other way around. Hearn made his name turning a failed Audley Harrison into a big earner. His big cashout fight was a disaster in the ring, but it still made the likes of Bellew, Froch, Brook get in touch looking for a slice of the promotion. If Hearn binned off Benn, who (despite what we all say) is apparently clear to fight, would other boxers smell weakness? If by supporting Benn and making the boy a few quid does Matchroom still look like the place to go? Of course Hearn is going to support him or the house of cards starts to topple.
I don't see Matchroom as the place to go to, at all to be honest. I think Eddie Hearn and the way he operates pisses off A LOT of fighters, managers, other promotors. I just don't think anyone really likes Eddie. This is not an exhaustive list but you look at the Smith Bros. You can tell they can't stand Eddie and his BS. Khan can't stand Eddie. Brook has fallen out with Eddie. Then you got the younger fighters like Buatsi, Okolie and O Hara Davies. Then David Haye. Tyson Fury. George Grooves. All seem to have a dislike towards Eddie. Fact is, he's a cnt. Plain and simple. He doesn't have the monopoly anymore in the UK and he certainly doesn't have it over in the US. Once Benn get exposed, he's left with a scared AJ. Once he loses again, there no way Eddie is getting to his billion pound valuation he wants for Matchroom purely because of the way he's dealt with everyone over the last 10/15 years.
There’s George groves on that list that seems alright so his opinion is worth something but the fact that that Haye, Fury, Khan and the smiths don’t like him is a positive if anything. With Brook it’s probably just a bit of sourness that he got dropped once he was well past his best which any promoter has the right to do.
