How would a fight play out between the 2 slow, iron chinned heavyweights? Highly doubt there would be knockout in this one.
I want to say Joe batters him, but with 5 inches of reach, Valuev might just jab and grab gorilla style him to get an ugly decision, especially with a hometown ref. Valuev could have been made silly by superior, more agile boxers who knew how to close the gap or capitalize on his predictable leads, but against Joe whom he can possibly outjab, he can score points and smother. Joyce lacks the speed of combinations/and or precise counterpunching to truly punish him while he does so. Then again, who knows.
Valuev is huge and has a good stamina for a guy that big. Joyce can beat smaller guys. Valuev vs Zhang is more interesting for me.
I'd say Valuev close and ugly. Joyce doesn't have the movement to cut distance IMO and Nic could possibly stink it up with his reach to a somewhat boring UD.
Zhang would KTFO Valuev. Having no defense is a bad idea against Zhang, and Valuev had none. And don't tell me about his chin - the ONLY real puncher whom Valuev faced in 53 fights as a pro was 200-lbs cruiser who hurt him badly. No chance he would stand to hard, fast and accurate punches of 290-lbs giant
Joyce with ease, not only is Joyce a better fighter, but he is also stronger than Valuev, who, considering his size, had no power...
One of the great shames of modern boxing is that we never got to see Valeuv KO'ed and tumble over like a falling timber. I was always hoping for Sugar Nikolai to fight a Klitschko to achieve this, especially thought Mayor Vitali could've done it. And I agree I could see Zhang doing it. But not Juggernaut Joe.
