Zhang has a better resume than Wilder

Incredible how many people now simple state that Zhang beat Hrgovic, like it was some robbery. Zhang lost, I had him losing, it was a close fight though. Zhang had a couple of big rounds and Hrgovic looked disinterested at times. But I think it's very difficult to give Zhang more than 6 rounds. Like or loath Compubox, Hrgovic landed more of every type of punch, and he swept the last 3 rounds without doubt. This narrative is absolutely midblowing and seems to have grown legs since the fight and following Joyce's win. It's mindblowing.

 

You know that old saying - if you repeat a lie enough times, it becomes the truth. First it was:

Only comment I'll make here is Joyce was never a good fighter. The only thing he had going for him was an iron chin. Slow as molasses, and no defense. Reminds me of a poor man's Ray Mercer, Mercer was much faster.

 

Joyce is a better opponent than anyone on Wilder’s resume. He was clearly on the rise in the division and was beating good competition on the way in. Having said that, Wilder has more depth.

Hammer barely won a single round in 10 against Ortiz - and that was Hammer three years younger before defeats by guys like Huggies. Come on.

Joyce is probably the bigger puncher I will give him that but you really have to be blind not to see how much more crafty, faster and intelligent Ortiz was. He is just a more complete package all around I honestly struggle to understand how anyone with a remote understanding of what makes a boxer technically superior should disregard it. Joyce would definitely not last against Wilder they way Ortiz could.
