What kind of fighter do you like?

A big hairy one

 

Like with women, I do not really have one type. Because I am gay and I do not watch boxing.

 

I don't care about personality, they can be brash or they can be modest, I don't watch boxing to like fighters.

In general I'm drawn to technical fighters and put off by fighters who rely on raw natural talent alone.

I also appreciate fighters who will simply fight anyone and always look to fight the best available. Even if they are not that good, there's something to admire about a fighter who backs himself and is willing to keep testing themselves against the best available.

 

KO artists that are on a seek & destroy mission. The sport generates money because of these guys, if every Boxer fought like Richardson Hitchins or Devin Haney there would be no PPV buyers or fans in the stadium though some snooty Boxing fans love to jerk off to how Boxing is about "hit & not get hit" or how guys like Hitchins epitomize the "sweet science"

So Duran, Beterbiev, Inoue, McClellan, Jackson etc

I don't mind if they trash talk but the worst one's are these jealous pitty pat UD feather fists like Money Mayweather who make unfounded accusations about PED's, gloves, wrapping etc because the other guy has power they can only dream about

 

Hagler, Beterbiev, Pacquiao, Usyk that's a good list man.

 

Kind of the same. Guys like Hagler, Morales and Pac. Warriors in the ring. I think I dislike privileged golden boys on an easier path with questionable judging and deck stacking.
Also dont like a**hole, bully type loud mouths. Espscially if they duck fights yet act like they dont.
I dont mind trash talk but in a tongue in cheek type of way or if there is real bad blood its also fine.

 

Who talks less and fights more.

Who likes to be champion and fights for legacy.

Who knows boxing and never try to avoid top fighters.

 

Courageous boxers who are aggressive, have excellent skills and who do not run (Mayweather, Corey Spinks) or hold (Okolie, Hopkins, older Klitschko) too much, and who do not use illegal tactics (Ward). And I don't like loud-mouthed braggarts (like Fury and Ali) or PED cheats (like Miller, Fury, and Whyte).

I like Hagler, Kovalev, Adamek, Crawford, Marciano, W. Klitschko 1999-2004, Inoue etc.

I appreciate Ring Warriors that will fight anyone such as Takam, Usyk, Lomachenko, Zhang, etc. and do not demand advantages (home advantage, dodgy officials, ring size, rematch clauses, catchweights, rehydration clauses).

 

Big punchers, of course.

There's nothing I find more boring than two fighters with little power just slapping away for six, eight, 10 or 12 rounds, only for the two virtually unmarked boxers to whine afterward that the decision didn't go their way.

You're both grown men. You're allowed to knock the other person out. You're allowed to control your own destiny in the ring.

Knock the other guy's head off.

There's nothing more conclusive than that.

 

I always liked watching prime RJJ.

 

Hit and not get hit with a strong jab and will get to the body when necessary. They dont do this i tune out.

 

I like fighters that fight at least a few times a year.

I'm easy to please.

 

All types. But not the huggers.

 

I don't have a type but I do know if they don't have a knockout punch they probably won't be a favorite of mine. It doesn't have to be stunning power like, Wilder, Inoue or Tank but they have to be able to put a man away and the mindset to do it when the opponent is hurt.

As far as the braggadocio aspect, when I was a kid Ali was, and still is, my favorite fighter. I was drawn to him by a post-fight interview I heard on the radio when I was six years old. I'd never seen him fight and I already liked him. If Ali came along now I am not so sure I would be drawn to the constant bragging and primping.
