In related news, I'll soon be unsubscribing from Showtime on my cable package (just as I did in 2018 with HBO)

A combined 8-decade-plus tradition of the sport broadcasting on the pair of erstwhile-rival premium-cable giants (45 years for HBO and 37 for Showtime), out with a whimper as the OTT streaming epoch begins.

Always preferred HBO to Showtime however these new streaming services are mostly garbage without any production value.

    Shame.

The only reason I have cable was for Showtime/HBO boxing and Orioles games. Even some of the Os games are now blacked out on Cable and only available for streaming on Apple TV. If Steve Jobs was still alive I'd like to unleash a nice little combo on him. This is making me seriously consider getting rid of cable altogether and watch the Os games via "other" ways.

This is bad news. One less platform for boxing means less exposure for boxing.

Boxing becoming a low tier sport at this rate. Casuals have less acces to it now which means it will continue to fade away.
Thats the problem of not putting out quality fights consistently.

Bingo. Boxing will not die of homicide, but suicide.

Corrupt alphabet organizations, greedy promoters, and inactive fighters.
