With DAZN, ESPN, and Fite being our only options to watch boxing once Showtime pulls the plug, boxing will slowly start to fade away into bolivian.

This makes me a bit sad, to be honest. Not that I can't watch boxing. There are a lot of options for viewing bouts. It makes me sad because boxing is going the way of horse racing, along with baseball and track and field. Those are my favorite sports. I'm quite anachronistic in that way and I am slowly watching my sports die.

Too true. It's only got itself to blame.

I won't believe it until Showtime confirms, but given the state of matters, not only with boxing, but with television in general, who can be surprised?

This is what happens when you pay a handful of fighters outrages money for mediocre matches. People won't tune in to watch mismatch. This killed HBO and it is killing Showtime.

DAZN was already a cluster**** that overpaid for every fighter they signed. ESPN is owned by Disney who has huge financial problems and losses. What does FITE even have?

Amazon or Apple could be where boxing ends up.

On the plus side, if all boxing came under one single streaming service, then at least it would be a lot easier for everyone to follow it.

It's just a shame it couldn't have all gone to HBO.

Damn shame, Showtime has been such an enjoyable network for boxing. I had a feeling this would happen eventually though with cable tv in general having a tough time.

This was not unexpected. Shocked Showtime hung on this long after HBO called it quits.

Which network or service, if any, comes out on top of the boxing world at the end of the decade? DAZN seems to lose money and it feels like ESPN are spending less on the sport. Without Showtime those 2 are the only players left it feels like
