OK so no heat problems in the stadium. Which Lightheavy s would have the greatest chance of stopping Sugar Ray Robinson? Legitimately!
A guy like Dwight Qawi is going to put a lot of pressure on a smaller guy, particularly if we go 15. Archie Moore would also be a dilemma. Bob Foster is another. MSM would be interesting as well and if a Michael Spinks wants to push the envelope lookout. Spinks would only need one good clean punch with either hand to make survival difficult. Realistically there's quite a few who would potentially stop him........i mean the man weighed 157 1/2 when he actually fought for the Light Heavyweight championship of the world. It's just so much ground to give up against big men of greatness or even extremely good big men of outstanding power and strength.
Good question,Fergy. Off the top of my head I'd say the following - Archie Moore Bob Foster Michael Spinks Dwight Qawi Robinson had the skills to outbox all of them but they had the power to stop him.
I can definitely see any of those been Robbo s worse nightmare, mate. Would be fighting on a knife edge.
It's a great chin but how does it hold up against 175 pound bangers while weighing 157 himself? It's a crazy ask.
Sad times for SRR then. It's all Fergy's fault for not specifying weigh in rules. Another ATG goes down thanks to sheer vagueness
I know mate. Only so much you can avoid in a ring. Against Maxim he was fighting a non puncher really, the heat got him eventually true, but against a guy like Foster.. Scary
