would still like to see Zhang in with a big fight or two. maybe with Wilder, Usyk or Fury. father time is beating fast ...hope he gets a big cash fight at least.

Ok but why did some of you guys on this forum kiss Fury’s ass after he beat a one-trick pony in Wilder? Right away almost the entire forum was in agreement that he would beat every ATG in history…The hypocrisy is wild…

 

Joyce's chin is the biggest myth in heavyweight boxing. Period. Citing Dubois who is a glorified can crusher and Parker, who doesn't possess any serious KO power at the top level as evidence that Joyce has a granite chin is a joke argument made by simpletons.

Joyce is a stepping stone guy. His power and chin have been greatly exaggerated by people who are little more than hype merchants.

But at least Wilder has a trick. Joyce is half a trick at best. And some of us have called out both (and Fury) for the frauds that they are.

 

But it is simply not true, mate. He doesn't have a bad chin but he is miles away from having this legendary iron chin that many incorrectly attributed to him. He is nowhere near a McCall or a Mercer. Look at this:

Doesn't exactly spell "granite chin" now does it? Joyce was also stopped by an absolute cream puff called Hamza Beguerni. The guy had ten amateur bouts, he lost all of them bar the Joyce bout where he knocked "iron chin" Joyce out in one round. Joshua also stopped Joyce in one round in 2011.

That's three stoppages in two years. I don't know how or where these hyperbolical claims about Joyce's chin started but Joyce was stopped three times as an amateur when he was still in his twenties. Punch resistance worsens as a fighter ages so no, it's not a case of "oh but it was a long time ago, he is much better now" either. Your punch resistance doesn't improve with age, it doesn't improve with experience. It does the exact opposite, it goes down the older you are and the more punches you are hit with.

So while Joyce's chin is decent he nowhere has the best chin in HW boxing and he is not even close to the likes of (pre-Lewis) Mercer or McCall.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. Zhang is already 40 years old and has only one credible opponent and it was against a slow as molasses come forward brawler who was tailor made for him. Zhang doesn’t even come close to being mentioned among any other ATGs.

 

Yes, I felt it was quite clear that he couldn't keep getting wins shipping the punishment he did against Dubois and Parker. Too many hard punchers in the division. Sooner or later something was going to crack.

 

Zhang brutalizes come forwards fighters like Frazier.
