I thought Gassiev would create openings against a guy not known for speed but he was too static when in range of Wallin. Still not that much in it, but I don't fancy Wallin against Usyk. Will surely dance rings around him. Usyk should fit him in if Fury wants six months holidays after Ngannou.

Gassiev was supposed to look good against Wallin.

Wallin can't punch. Wallin hasn't looked good in years. Wallin's been fighting eight rounders and going the distance. Wallin even appeared to lose to that guy Sokolowski with the losing record.

THIS was the "name" guy who would cause no trouble for him and who Gassiev was supposed to look good against.

This was the guy with "no punch" so Gassiev didn't have to worry about getting hit with anything devastating ... and Gassiev still looked like he got hurt in one of those middle rounds.

Gassiev didn't look good at all. He showed no urgency (maybe he just assumed the judges were going to give it to him, regardless, but it was so one-sided even all of them couldn't).

Gassiev lost to a light-punching fringe contender.

Zhang and Hrgovic would've left Gassiev in a puddle on the floor tonight.

That was a bad look for Gassiev. He was clueless in there. And his power didn't travel with him to Turkey.

    True. But...
That was sure that Otto will be boxing better. He is bigger southpaw with skills. I personal think that just quick, heavy handed Murat land smth on him and can finish work.
    He cant.
Dont want take away nothing from Wallin. Great performance and tacitc. Great stamina for this all light puch all night long too.

But this was for sure not perfect opponent for Murat to show his best
Murat is slow feet, hard puncher with quick hand and good chin. He will show much more with opponent WHO dont run away for him but come closer I guess.

Hrgovic and Zhang for me are favorite too. But there is other top who will be interesting to watch with him.
For example Anderson who going forward with combinationts and poor defence

This is the first good opponent Gassiev fought in years. I knew there was trouble for Gassiev when they announced this fight.

Wallin is an annoying fight for a lot of heavies. That's why he can't get a fight. He's a southpaw who can move a bit and that will trouble most heavyweights.

They gave Gassiev a guy with below average punching power for a heavyweight, and Gassiev still looked hurt in one of the middle rounds and Otto was chasing Gassiev around the ring.

Maybe he'll look better against another "name" heavyweight.

But I think Gassiev's team picked the easiest "name" heavyweight they could find who hasn't looked good in years himself, and Gassiev still lost.

Everyone else in the top 10 hits harder than Wallin.

Damn, missed the fight. I'm seeing a Split Decision, but from what I've read it was a solid victory for Wallin. Got me there, I was somewhat expecting Gassiev to be able to pull it off (voted for him I think) after Wallin was inactive and gave half-hearted effort against Sokołowski. Seems like he took the opportunity to step up when facing an actual named opponent.

    Will be watching it later.

These puny cruiserweights can't compete against these huge overweight behemoths. Gassiev was lucky he got out of there in one piece.... Feed that scrawny Usyk to Wallin next!

There's obviously no corrupt decisions in boxing, just look at Loma Haney and GGG Canelo 1.

There's no way Wallin beat Fury. How did you score it?

Jesus. He has not been the same since the injuries. He is STILL young and I STILL hope he has a good return. Wasn't his night.

By the way, congrats to Wallin, who I also think is a hell of a fighter.

Besides the cut, Fury Vs Wallin was not remotely close. Fury won very clearly.

There really isn't that much to say about Gassiev. He's just way too small and limited to have any success at the upper echelons of the HW division. I remember when he was billing himself as being 6'4" (LOL), he's 6'1" on a good day and skinny fat at 215lbs. The tomato cans he was bowling over in recent years might've convinced many he was going to be some serious force, hence the vast majority picking him to stop Wallin, but anybody slightly objective could see that Wallin who is a decent sized HW and has good movement and boxing ability was going to pick apart the inactive, blown up cement-footed cruiser.
