Did canelo sign a 3 fight deal with pbc? The charlo fightis #1, maybe benavidez is 2, not sure what 3 would be?

Benavidez is definitely a rung below Bivol and Beterbiev.

    Agree

But he is strong and has a high output. That may be enough against this Canelo

I suspect once he starts eating hard counters his punch out put will diminish. Lot of volume punchers do well until they step up a level and struggle unless they have the defence to go with their offense. It's a very hard to combine the two and l don't think Benavidez has it.

Out of the three fighters mentioned the Benavidez fight is the one to make,Canelo needs to forget about Bivol and Beterbiev up at 175,Bivol even at 168 still beats him also imo .

I admit I am not impressed by Benavidez and there is nothing special about him. It's merely his size, output and resilience that is swaying me - and not his skill set. He struggled against Plant and looked out of ideas for a while but he found a way.

Difficult choice to make for me. I'm going with my gut and still picking Benavidez but I still rank Canelo as the more skillful fight and could still change my mind depending on how Benavidez performs in his next fight.

The other two choices I am firmly sticking with. Beterbiev will remain a menace even well into his 40s if he sticks around and Bivol is going to be the slickster he always is.

Canelo is definately slowing down but only Bivol exposed it.

Go watch a 20 year old Benavidez fight Medina who was a puncher. He ate punches and it just encouraged him. You still have no idea who Benavidez is comparing him to these cans Canelo has been fighting the last few years. Canelo will be an easy target for Benavidez, flat footed, and small with low ouput. David will light him up and won't stop. He will beat the crap out of Canelo and likely stops him with a TKO.

I wrote that it is my opinion, there are no facts (Based on what???). But I can answer why I have that opinion. Canelo is the undisputed champion in the SMW division (168lbs), and Bivol has never fought in that division.

    I'll add this

If the Canelo-Benavidez or Beterbiev-Bivol fights don't get made then Benavidez should step up to LHW and face Bivol or Beterbiev.

He is already a big SMW and walks around at 200lbs and is not far off Zurdo's size.

Waiting around for a Canelo payday is stupid because Canelo is always the A-side and can freeze you out as well as having the pick of promoters at his doorstep writing blank cheques to sign him up for multifight deals.

Benavidez try and establish himself and carve his own legacy independently of Canelo if he has the will to do so

Drastic weight cuts normally effect a fighters speed, power, punch resistance and stamina in a negative way. This might tip it in Canelo’s favour.

His combination of size, speed, power, combinations, gas tank, durability and skill is not special? get some glasses.
