PBC = 0-3 at world stage

    Fulton KOd versus Inoue
    Spence TKOd versus Bud
    Jermell shutout versus Canelo

Derrick James has won about 2 rounds out of 21 and his fighters have been KD 4 times in their biggest fights.

PBC a joke. Derrick James needs to go back to amateur boxing.

So is your issue with PBC or Derrick James?

Fulton and Charlo had not a chance in hell of winning their respective fights. He does deserve some flak for not developing Spence, but Errol's bad habits and lack of dedication played a major role there. DJ's not much of a tactitian, but sometimes the other guy is just better.

Derrick James is an excellent trainer, but he isn’t a miracle worker.

Charlo was completely overmatched and really had no business fighting Canelo. You need to have some stopping power to have a chance at beating Canelo, but even when Charlo was landing flush he wasn’t able to put a dent in Canelo.

Also, Spence not taking care of himself outside the ring can’t be blamed on James, since he isn’t Spence’s babysitter.

He still has AJ, Ryan G & Frank White.
So the potential to 3-3 but could likely go 0-6
    Depending on their next fights.

His guys were fighting top 5 pfp opponents in all cases.

You could make an argument re: Spence given his own credentials, but Crawford was the favorite anyway and Spence just doesn't have the style to beat Crawford. Bad matchup and there's nothing the trainer can do about that.

Not sure how PBC factors into this, other than the usual issue on this forum.

No one's ever been able to put a dent in Canelo. But Jermell has shown the ability to stop quality fighters in the past. But Charlo's path to victory wasn't to load up on big shots and hope to get lucky, it was to use his footwork, reach and speed advantage, and his conditioning, to work behind the jab similarly to how he beat Castaño last year. In essence Charlo reverted back to being "too economical" resulting him him giving away rounds and being outboxed like he was in the first Harrison fight and in the first Castaño fight. If the Jermell Charlo who fought Castaño last year in the rematch fought Canelo, well i'm not saying he would have won, but he would have done a lot better than he did last night. And if you're looking for reasons for why that happened, people can point to the weight, but it's also the Canelo intimidation factor. Charlo isn't the first fighter to fail to be as competitive as fans expected against Canelo. While Jermell Charlo certainly didn't put up the kind of fight that many had thought or hoped he would, he's also going up against a generational fighter who was well prepared for Charlo. We saw in the gym Canelo was working on cutting off the ring, and the Charlo fight was really a schooling and a master class on how to cut off the ring and trap a mover on the ropes, then wail away with power bombs.

How did Fulton have no chance? Inoue in his 4th weight class and Fulton both taller and longer. Fulton definitely had a chance. Hell betting odds opened at Inoue -285 and Fulton +215 for good reason.

Jermell is MASSIVE for 154, perhaps the biggest 154'er in past decade. Jermell couldve been at 160 for years now but he's excellent at cutting weight (more on that later). He had a chance to do his best Floyd and Lara impression but was - as usual - all talk and definitely NOT a lion.

Spence's best attribute was cutting weight just like his Charlo bros. He had some quality wins but always seemed 1 dimensional...which was a problem against a dynamic fighter in Crawford.

Charlos skipped a VADA drug test which raises concern for diuretics/PED use considering their commonality of being weight bullies.

Fulton is a pillow fisted potshot artist, BJ. The whole advantage of being bigger is that you can impose your size, strength, and power on the smaller guy. He had no advantage in those areas; this was evident from round one, but you should've already known this before they even stepped into the ring. Odds are for people to bet and make money; it has absolutely nothing to do with breaking down a fight.

And I've said in two other threads now that Charlo's weight cutting is to his benefit. If done comfortably, cutting forces a fighter train harder, spar more rounds, run more miles, eat healthier, etc. It results in a sharper fighter.

Charlo was not lean at the weigh in. He did not cut, nor did he put on a great deal of muscle. He simply trained less hard and carried the extra fat in the ring that he would've burned off during cutting.

You guys put too much stock into what these guys weight in between fights, when they are drinking alcohol and eating hot wings. That's not functional weight. And there is a difference between rehydration water weight (which burns off again during a 12 round fight) and fat, which slows a fighter down for the duration of those 12 rounds.

I feel like you guys haven't actually trained before...

Dude just STFU. Has nothing to do with "that". Haymon and Derrick James fighters just keep getting their ass kicked whenever they step up. Call a spade a spade.

Take your own advice. These guys all were underdogs and two of them were significant underdogs.

This is just another way for simple minds to advance an agenda. You are Exhibit A.

Man **** off. I started out an Al Haymon fan. Thought he was good for boxing because he brought boxing to network Television. Even created threads praising him for that. I soured on Al when it became obvious he was bad for boxing and protecting fighters. **** out of here with that.

Fulton was the bigger and longer man who was supposed to be a slick boxer. There's a reason some people were actually picking Fulton to win. He absolutely had a real chance. Inoue simply displayed how special he is.

Every fighter can cut weight like Canelo. There's nothing unique about his process.

You werent in camp and dont know that. Those observations are fair and are deductions from what you saw but that doesnt make them true or what actually happened. Instead of saying Jermell Charlo simply trained less for the biggest fight of his career, consider that Derrick James had an awful plan/strategy the same way he did for Spence against Bud.

This is flat out wrong. The less time camp is spent on making weight the more time camp can be spent on tactics and strategy. So weight fluctuations between camps absolutely does matter.

Excuse me Mr Shadow but I'd like to introduce you to a a real fighter. If you hadn't gone into hiding after Canelo - Bivol you'd know him already. He's the guy that totally dominated Ginger Boy , Toyed with him, made him look foolish at times. Bivol put one hell of a dent in Ginger so much so that Ginger signed with PBC to avoid him. As you know avoiding the dangerous fighters is Gingers forte
Ginger has a chance to redeem himself a little He bragged after the fight " No one can beat me now I don't care who It is bring them on" OK Ginge Fight these 3 Benividez, Bivol at 168, & Beterbiev who claims he can make 168 too if you want. Do that & beat all 3 & heck I'll call you the King of Boxing myself
