JLC1 shouldve been a loss and Maidana 1 probably shouldve been a draw. Its really this simple, are either of Maidana or JLC as good as Duran or JCC Sr? The answer is no.

Rather its that his career had a lot of smoke & mirrors quality to it where he would pick the right guys at the right time at the right place to fight like the Cotto fight after he took a horrific beating vs Margarito & got stopped by Pac. He turned into daffy duck when Margarito ambushed him asking him why he isn't willing to fight him, looked positively panicked (today if you ask him why he never fought Margarito he will say Margarito was a cheat but at the time this incident happened, no one thought Margarito was a cheat)

There was that time when he called out Winky Wright & wasn't heard from again after Winky agreed to his clauses. His delusional fanboys will tell you that Winky priced himself out, righttttttttt

Never fought Kostya Tszyu either though Kostya beat his uncle Roger (Kostya was on Showtime & Floyd on HBO yes but his fanboys are never so charitable when they proclaim other fighters ducked people) & instead fought Gatti the "paper champ" as he called him (after he beat Gatti who already had a lot of mileage including the trilogy with Ward, he suddenly proclaimed Gatti to be a legit world champ)

He never fought outside US though Hatton had the whole of UK behind him but demands Inoue to come fight in US (which he already did 3X) even though Inoue makes far more money in Japan & also gets career high paydays for his opponents when they go to Japan. All his big fights were in Vegas & we know the retroactive IV use exemptions he conveniently got after the Pac fight while Pac was denied his painkiller shot for the shoulder

Rick Glaser also claims that he ducked Paul Spadafora twice where he was involved in trying to get that fight made. I have no way of confirming his story but what is known is he sparred Spadafora & looked less than stellar (though of course sparring is sparring), the tape of that session exists
