Amazon's 4K NFL games and the 4K college FB games on Fox are beautiful. I don't even like FB that much. It's a pity we are stuck with the high school A/V projects of DAZN. I think the audio is even worse than the video.
I'd be ecstatic if it's Amazon. I already have Prime and can drop Showtime, plus you know Amazon will do top notch production
I was thinking the same thing even though I never have watched one thing from Amazon, how do you know it would have good production ?
You are right that I don't know, but Amazon certainly has the money (spending $1.2 billion per year to broadcast one NFL game per week) and as a tech company it would hurt their brand to show sports the way DAZN does. Considering that Apple TV also is a player in live sports, those companies need to continue pushing the envelope on tech. Here are some quotes from them on NFL: "Tomorrow’s Thursday Night Football (TNF) game between the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Philadelphia Eagles will be the first live game presentation in 1080p Full HD with high dynamic range (HDR) specular highlights streamed on Amazon Prime. ... Amazon said the telecast will be offered in “native HDR” for the first time. “'Prime Video’s ability to capture and distribute native HDR pictures is made possible by its arsenal of net-generation production equipment, unparalleled livestreaming technology and a direct-to-consumer delivery that is not constrained by legacy systems present in traditional broadcasting,” according to the company announcement.'"
Yeah In the case of quality they will go very far if done correctly but even then most assume the production quality hinders on many aspects even the little things, I wouldn't trust them to get it right all the way with todays younger commentators compared to the more mature ones of late times, Promos, build up programming, round replays during the fights, lights, rings, camera work directing (which I always thought DAZN had the worst in that aspect) etc all make up the difference in the finish point of production, hopefully they do start & do a real good job with it, You could watch the whole old HBO events & enjoy every bit without even getting to the match it was done very well.
They certainly have the money. Now all they need is a good announcing team, and it just might work out well.
PBC have not failed Pendejo. They are in the market for a new broadcast partner. They may even go with an Amazon Prime or Netflix. Stick your hatred were it belongs in the gutter.
