Boxers are a different breed, always have been. Many are flawed. Many break the law. I judge them primarily by what they do in their office, the ring.
I'll hold my excitement until they're both in the ring, I'm not being funny I'm old enough and experienced enough to know that this may well be another illusion, especially concerning Fury.
Not long after getting into boxing I realized this wasn't the best place to go looking for role models. At the end of the day, boxing is a sport, but it's a sport where hurting another human being is more or less a guarantee. It ain't gonna attract the most savory characters to its ranks. The way I see it, their abilities in the ring should come before anything else. If they turn out to be a good guy, all the better, but if you wanna have a list of favorites based on that alone, you're gonna have a thin list.
And this is exactly my point. In such a sport and environment where unsavoury characters will inevitably be represented in vast numbers, Usyk’s personality is a rarity (and that’s putting it mildly).
Yes it could be both and that would be great No for all his cowardly ducking ways, Belly isn't Fulton or Spence and obviously the huge size, weight, reach, and height advantage he has over Usyk is a massive factor and obstacle for Usyk to overcome. I'd love to see Usyk Lacy him but I don't think it's going to be easy fight for either of them. Ideally I'd like to see Usyk school him in the first fight, and knock him out in the rematch
Some people on this forum would like you to believe that Usyk is a saint and Fury is the devil. Fury has 7? kids with the same woman and they are still together… He actually seems like a decent dude, a family man who happens to be bipolar. I know some of you guys think mental illness is something made up. All I can say to you is good luck evolving. I like both fighters and imo they have both been a credit to the sport of boxing.
People are sick of public figures who are narcissists at their core. It's the reason Trump won't beat Biden next year, not that people disagree with his policies, it's that they can't stand him because he runs his mouth. Fury may be a good man, but he has an obnoxious personality, a tendency to duck real challenges, and has basically said he's a ***** for the most money he can get. None of those things endear someone to the public. He may be bipolar or have legit mental illness, but that isn't why he's obnoxious. Usyk on the other hand, is extremely likeable, ducks no one, and has never once held up a fight for money. That makes him easy to root for and in my opinion, makes him a great ambassador for the sport. If Fury would just shut up and fight, he could be the most beloved figure in the sport and the wealthiest too, but instead, he should be stripped of his title and whisked away to WWE where his personality and avoidance of true violence belong.

Usyk won't invoke his rematch clause & Fury won't defend against the IBF mando. Fury will fight Zhang for $1billion. That's about all he has left in boxing. IBF belt gets sold to highest bidder, which is Wilder or AJ.
