The winner of Usyk-Fury will absolutely be the man at Heavyweight, there's no disputing that, and although this news is hardly surprising I still can't help be a little disappointed about it. I know the belts don't really mean anything at the end of the day, the big deal is the best fighting the best, but I was hoping we'd get to see the winner of this fight bring them all into their next bout, whether that be a rematch or a mandatory or whatever, if only for the novelty of it. Folks always talk about how the last Undisputed Heavyweight champion was Lennox Lewis, and that is surely disappointing, but less talked about is how the last time a heavyweight brought all the belts into the ring was when Evander Holyfield faced off against Riddick Bowe. In 1992. Thirty one damn years ago. Ah well. Usyk and Fury are going to fight, and there's a good chance we'll get two fights out of it, maybe even three. Even if all the belts aren't at stake every time, at least we'll get to see the best fighting to best Also I agree, I'd rather have Wilder win the vacant belt, cause I just know AJ would say "thrice" or "threepeat" in his victory speech, and... it's petty as ****, but that notion is enough to make me root against him
This content is protected Lots of rumours have been swirling recently that Fury vs. Usyk could be postponed, so Frankie Blue Eyes has had to dispel these rumours. Wouldn’t surprise me if this bout didn’t take place as has happened before
I believe I speak for most people when I say that we will only believe the fight is actually happening when both men are in the ring, the bell has been rung and they are punching each other in the face.
Sounds good, though. They sort their business and the winner faces the winner of Hrgovic-Joshua, at least if it's Usyk. With Fury you never know. That would ideally make for four really good fights. I'd really like to see Hrgovic-Joshua.
Win, lose or draw, Usyk & Fury are done with boxing after this...well Fury won't be but not on the level of fighting up and coming people like Hurgovic, no money big risk. Zhang maybe, big useless plodder might be worth a fortune if marketed well which is down to Zhang to achieve. People need to get this idea out of their head that Usyk and Fury are going to defend plastic belts for a couple of quid. Usyk is DONE just as much Fury is DONE. Their bodies are gone. Their minds are strong though, their minds are the strongest which is why they are where they are...but body will falter. They will lay everything down and you will see what happens when two men who don't know how to lose at that level fight.
He might not be the first to say it but it's certainly true with the fat greedy qypsy queen's track record
The winner of Fury-Usyk will be the champion of the world, disputed by nobody, until such time as somebody beats them. That they get a belt taken off them by an organization pushing their mandatory challenger up won't diminish from that.
Oh yeah, for sure. I said in another post that losing a belt diminishes nothing, because the winner of this is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the best of this generation, and they'll stay the best until they lose or decide to hang em up. But just for the novelty alone, I am a bit bummed out that we're unlikely to see a defense of all four belts. The last time every major belt was brought into a bout by a single person at heavyweight was in 1992, when Holyfield fought Riddick Bowe the first time. Ever since then the belts have been fragmented, save for when Lennox Lewis was able to unify against Evander Holyfield in 1999, though he never got the chance to defend all three in one fight due to WBA shenanigans. I mean at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. The big thing is the best fighting the best, and a stripping or vacating doesn't take anything of substance from someone's status as the best. Still, it would be cool to see all the belts be unified and stay that way for at least one or two defenses. But ah well, can't have everything, and if the trade off for all the belts being defended is seeing Usyk and Fury fight more than once, I'd say that's a fair enough trade
What the hell are you talking about ??? Fury has 34 heavyweight pro fights , is/was holder or any belt in the division , unified world champion . Usyk in conparision has 5 heavyweight fights - yes five ! Against 4 opponents - yes 4 ! He and not fury avoided wilder and has choosen a lower risk dubois even for low money/popularity . Wilder was cleared as next mandatory , usyk would loose no belt by facing wilder . No fury lover or usyk hater here but what you write is simply false . Use facts and common sense !
I gave you a like, because that is exactly what I came in here to say. I'll believe it once they are at the weigh-in. Fury is scared of hard work, miniq. Any excuse to get out of it. That may be why he agreed to Usyk.. just continue the training for Nganou.. other wise that lazy ****er would never start up a new camp (like somebody else said). :I'm actually gonna watch Fury-Wilder II to see what a seriously trained Fury can do.
Seeing the Furyette cult members react to that as "so you don't want the fight to happen then" is baffling. Just look at my boy @Elvizzz a few posts above yours. I mean... wtf? In what dimension does "Fury is admittedly a f***ing liar with a long track record of BSing around, gaslighting and pulling out of fights so I won't believe he wants to fight until he actually shows up on fight night" mean "I don't want the fight to happen"? It seems more and more like being a Fury supporter is actually a proper mental health issue in itself.
