If Fury beats Usyk clearly then Wilder will become a generational win/wins as he's Fury's main rival and the only fighter to not exclusively lose to Fury. Everything will look even better in retrospect. If Wilder KO's Usyk, Joshua or even Ruiz he'll arguably be an ATG when all is said and done.

I don't think victory in a rematch can be generational, under any circumstances, where a fighter has already proven his superiority.

I don't agree that a victory over Usyk changes how the Wilder fight looks, and if it makes Wilder the number two fighter for this generation that means that Usyk can no longer be the number two fighter of this generation and if he is going to be the best fighter of the post-Fury generation he has to be kicking serious ass into his 40th year.

I think we just define generational victories differently, probably. But you can't have multiple generational victories in one generation. Fury has beaten the best fighter of the last generation - Wlad - and the best fighter of his own generation excepting himself - Usyk or Wilder - in this scenario.

So if a fighter in the Klitschko era had beaten Wlad and Vitali, he wouldn't have had two generational victories? Or Holmes and Tyson in the 80's?

Usyk has the best cruiserweight record and is clearly a top 2 cruiser at heavyweight along with Holyfield. So if Wilder's the 2nd generational win, Usyk would be the 3rd ATG on Fury's record, even if he's not considered an ATG heavyweight.

No. Wlad is clearly the greater fighter, by distance.

If you beat Holmes in 1983 and then Tyson in late 1989 you've probably beaten the best fighter of the last and next generation, yes.

If Fury beats Usyk which I feel he will he will want one more scalp on his resume and that’s AJ. He can then lay claim to beating all of the big names in his era and become an ATG at heavy. Usyk imo is vastly overrated at heavyweight. He struggled with Chisora and Dubois, what’s gonna happen when he has a guy like Fury in front of him who is a very skilled and mobile guy with all the advantages in reach, weight, and height.

Usyk is still an old, mostly unproven cw. It doesn't help Fury's standing much. Maybe nudges him above fifty.

All time rankings will always be subjective but there's definitely some fights out there that can give Fury a massive boost.

These lists are silly. They mean nothing. Fury would be the best of his era & you cant do more than that.

Nah. If Fury beats Usyk he surpasses Wlad. Wlad never fought his era best in Vitali.. & he has multiple losses too. He also never beat a fighter as good as Usyk, Usyk is better than Haye, Povetkin & Byrd. If Fury beats Usyk & retires I'd have him over Wlad personally. But it doesn't really matter, Wlad was arguably his era best, Fury would be this eras, that's all you can be.. yes he had way more defenses but I think beating Usyk would be more impressive than sparking some good but not great fighters again & again.

    I was answering a point about Wlad/Vitali, I wasn't talking about Wlad/Fury.

No ranking. He should disappear and open a circus.
