I don't think Floyd beats this Canelo Nearly as easily. These Canelo's are so different.

Floyd wouldn't fight a green Canelo at 154, the actual weight class.... He made him drain down 2 more lbs.

What makes you think he would fight an established champ at 168?

He would literally never take that fight. Literally never.

You make it sound like Floyd didn't take numerous vacations/retirements or like he was a high octane offensive fighter who'd been in many wars. In fact, he often boasted about how he'd never taken punishment.

Floyd was very well preserved and his safety first style lended itself to a long career. He was very close to his prime when he fought a green and drained Clenelo.

    :deal:

How is a fighter 40+ fights in his pro career too green?

No he wasn't Mayweather had bad hands at Welterweight and never really stopped anyone notable at that weight apart from Ortiz in a controversial ending. So the fact he was fighting Canelo at 150+ pounds would be even worse.

Mayweather was at his best at Super Featherweight and P4P if you're comparing Mayweather at Super Featherweight to Canelo at Super Middleweight. Mayweather is light years ahead of Canelo.

Bivol would have toyed with Floyd, he`s a light heavy.

In what would have been pegged as "the battle of the wife beaters".:facepalm:

Could a great little wife beater beat a much bigger wife beater?

What excuses ? Mayweather won their fight easily so how can there be any excuses for Mayweather ? If anything you're the one making excuses for Canelo "losing"

It would be closer because the current version of Canelo would take more risk against Floyd.

116-112, 114-114, 117-111 whilst having the advantage of a cripping catchweight impairing his opponent, and committing numerous fouls along the way, is not winning easily.

Shadow I like some points you make in other topics but regarding Canelo I can't take you seriously you've stated before you can see a draw for Canelo vs Mayweather that says it all.

Canelo is supposedly an ATG 168lber, right? Why couldn't he at least make it a serious fight?

Floyd was too small and drained him.

    Bivol was too big.

    Benavidez? Too Mexican.

Benavidez would land more punches on Canelo than Floyd did.

We can all agree that the best version of Clenelo is at 168. So if Floyd fought Clenelo almost 10 years ago at a catchweight of 152, when Clenelo was green and drained, it's safe to say that he didn't beat the best version. Is that an excuse? No. It's just facts based on timeline.

So a 42-0 world champion with over a dozen world title fights isn't ready to face the much smaller man who's on the wrong side of 30.

    Sounds like cope to me.
