Yeah, probably best for AJ to not commit too much and do a Zhang. He has a very good jab and has a good chance of winning the fight behind that. Maybe press the issue more in the later rounds

Like against Pulev, really. Box and take the opportunity if it presents itself.

Zhang threw far more punches than AJ does.

I have a feeling it may look a bit like the Pulev fight, except more competitive. Hrgovic fights better on the inside than Pulev, who is more jab reliant - so hopefully it will bring some more action out of Joshua and we see a good fight.

Pulev is much smaller and was 100 years older.

Inside? AJ can't and doesn't fight inside and neither does Pulev. Pulev has to close distance which 40 year old Pulev obviously struggled with which is why AJ chinned the old useless dosspot. Hurgo doesn't fight inside either but he is the same size as AJ so it would be a straight up boxing match. Both quick, AJ hits a little harder but Hurgo's skills are on par with the bodybuilder and he hasn't quit like a B yet like AJ with mental issues. If Zhang cracked AJ with the lefts he hit Hurgo with he'd hit the canvas and cry.

I don't want to hear about Pulev's, AJ's, Whyte's, Povetkins, Ruiz's or any of these chumps AJ filled his manufactured resume with.

I want to hear about real heavyweights. Joyce, Zhang, Fury, Usyk, Wilder.

& Hurgo can join that club if he gets the shot to KO AJ for a plastic belt Eddie wants to buy.

Here is how Hurgo AJ goes - Hurgo outjabbing a scared AJ early. Hurgo telegraphs his right hand. BAM. It still lands because AJ is a dumb blind useless bum of a fighter. AJ fights even more scared. This continues for 6 rounds. AJ might win some rounds Hurgo takes off. AJ gets looks ringside and sees Wilder smiling, feints and the bout is called TKO 7. Hurgovic is HW champion.

Hrgovic looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but in the ring during the Zhang fight on a number of occasions.

Probably never had a 290 pound man level off on him. Most people myself included were very harsh on him in the RBR. Hurgo will show up properly if given a title shot uninjured and enough time to prepare. A dumb bodybuilder isn't going to phase him.

These threads just show me the majority of posters don’t understand what they’re looking at.

Zhang would flatten Joshua in a couple rounds.

Hmm... for some reason that reminds me of some other big fight :sisi2:

Last I looked b4 typing this the voting was AJ 35-20. I think it will be a close fight. Some have the view that Filip can't win a decision. Is it settled that Filip will be the away fighter?

    True, but consider this.
There are threads here where many think that 185-215# HWs of many decades ago will beat modern 240-280# HWs cause... reasons.

When Wilder flattened Helenius in 1 the consensus was that Helenius was a shot fighter who'd really been beaten by Chisora in his prime and was thus never that good. Yet 10 months later on 6 days notice he goes 7 rounds with Joshua, was in the fight until he gassed in 5 or 6 and busted Joshua's face up pretty badly with his jab. "I can't land my right hand" - Anthony Joshua

As flawed as Hrgovic looked in the Zhang and McKean fights he's a lot better than Helenius ever was. He's relatively young, fresh and has to be hungrier and more confident than Joshua. Helenius was the first tall puncher Joshua had fought since Wlad, who was himself 2 years older than Helenius at 41. Some believe this is a coincidence or that Joshua was being avoided by everyone, I personally don't. Hrgovic should win but maybe Hearn thinks (as he did with Usyk) that they can avoid getting KO'd and keep it close enough to rob him if need be.

    Joshua on points.

Hrgovic is a decent, tough heavyweight but I don't think he has the tools to beat Joshua. He's nothing like Usyk, doesn't have the movement or lead hand control to out box Joshua from the outside, plus he's pretty easy to hit. He's also not a counter puncher, so won't catch Joshua when punching like Ruiz did. He has a punchers chance of course but he's far more likely to be outboxed and lose a clear decision.
