Middleweight unification bout between the WBO champion Alimkhanuly and the IBF champion Gualtieri. This is the forth unification bout at 160 pounds for the last six years, the other three being: Golovkin-Murata, Canelo-Jacobs and Golovkin-Lemieux - 3/4 featuring Kazakh fighters. Although from the all the aforementioned bouts, this fight has the most similarities with Golovkin-Lemieux, just to name a few:

Undefeated Kazakh amateur star faces newly crowned IBF champion, who's reign is three months.
The fight is in October just like GGG-Lemmy.
And you have a big favorite to win in Alimkhanuly.

Although at least David was an exciting, one punch hitter, whereas Vincenzo is your run of the mill, generic European fighter. Can't say I'm excited for this fight. Even Top Rank hasn't exactly gone their way to promote this fight.

As a side note. When was the last time we had an unification bout between two undefeated champions at middleweight? Now that's some food for thought. :sherlock:

You're talking about Janibek, right? Seems like I've seen him on an undercard or two and he gets some love around here. Like he's some kind of potential Golovkin or something, right? So how good is Gualtieri? Is this a coming out party for one of these two?

Janibek will stop him imo. Gualtieri is being rated based of his win against Falcao who just happened to be a bum like his brother.

I see a Eurasian King annexing another belt to add to his collection and establishing 50% Eurasian dominance of the division once again after the long reign and dominance of the division of the previous Eurasian King GGG.
