"The World Boxing Association (WBA) ruled that the ruling of the bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois, held last August 26, will stand after having thoroughly studied the appeal made by Queensberry Promotions.

The bout that took place in Wrocław, Poland, ended with victory for WBA heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, who also defended his WBO, IBF and IBO belts in that bout.

On September 4, the company representing Dubois emailed the WBA indicating that Queensberry desired to have the outcome of the bout reversed due to the referee’s action for a punch they considered low in the fifth round.

Queensberry Promotions sent all the documents with their arguments to consider a reversal of the result. These were sent to Usyk’s representatives, the IBF and the WBO. On September 12, Usyk’s team acknowledged receipt of the appeal and their response, in which they addressed their arguments and various considerations about the fight.

The supervisors of the fight were Carlos Ortiz (IBF), Ed Levine (IBO), Thomas Puetz (WBO) and Jesper Jensen (WBA). The supervisor of the pioneer body, Jensen, determined that referee Luis Pabón made the correct decision regarding the punch which he considered an accidental low blow.

With the supervisor’s opinion, the WBA decided to send the case to the International Officials Committee, who on September 11, issued their review and found that there was no clear and conclusive evidence that the original decision made by Pabon on Dubois’ punch to Usyk was wrong. They also concluded that no TV clip had evidence that the decision was incorrect. In addition, they asserted that “the original decision of the low blow must stand, as there is no indispensable evidence to prove otherwise.”

On the other hand, the WBA rules determine that the decision of a low blow and whether a boxer who receives it can continue are strict competences of the referee and he is the only one authorized to make these decisions.

After studying all the documents, the conclusions of all the instances and the internal rules of the WBA, it was determined that the appeal does not proceed and the decision of the fight stands with the victory and defense of the champion Usyk."

They never overturn anything anyway. I still think it was a KO. But I won't discuss it anymore, it's been done to death.

That's an awfully long way to say "yes it was clearly low" (which it was).

Baseless appeal to save face quits on one knee in typical DDD fashion, as expected.

How about they review how Lerena was stopped after the bell by Dubois and how the 3 KD rule mysteriously disappeared?

    Nice. Justice served

    No overturning of the decision

    No rematch

And hopefully they won't afford Dubois a lofty ranking either just to rub salt in the wound of Team Dubois after the way they conducted themselves

So that's x 4 losses for Big Frank including the JTFO KO and schooling by King Usyk

All those baba tears amounted to nothing

Can you imagine if old puffy cheeks Kneeguel "JTFO" Quittois was the first man to take Usyk's 0?

    Justice has been upheld here.

I have said this many times if Boxing wants to survive and not turn into the circus they are trying to make it, and Fury is leading the waggon, Boxing needs strong and strict rules, just like in UFC.

Same as A and B side stuffs completely gone, as well as obvious favoritism for X or Y boxers.

There was at least 10+ clear lowblows by Dubois, which the 2 cry babies on here also completely misses to mention. And when i posted the video they were hidden in their hole.

His entire strategy for the fight was to be as dirty as possible, and to go low on Usyk.

And let's be real everyone that is crying that this was not low blow was either a Usyk hater or Fury fan.
And they know exactly that Fury has 0% chance to beat Usyk fair. His only chance is the referee to allows him to go as dirty as possible in a match.
Blatant clinching, holding, hitting with other arm, elbows, low blows, and when Fury is down the count will be to 20.

Fury is going to hit Usyk with plenty of them belly punches and they won't be ruled low. rightfully. Usyk is going to do a lot of crying to the ref. He isn't used to dealing with pro roughhousing himself he relies on the ref. The clinching and mauling .He is going to be in a world of hurt and anyone who wants to cry and complain about it clearly hasn't watched enough boxing...or they 're just awfully biased to Usyk.

Can you imagine Fury fanboys already knows that Fury needs to cheating, otherwise he will get demolished.
The reality is, even Fury cheating may not safe his ***.

Usyk was clearly dominating the fight, and half his glove was below the belt. It was a low blow, simple as. The ref said it, the boxing association have said it, it's done.

Although Usyk was a bit lucky because if that punch had have been on the belt, he would have probably been KOd.
