Does it annoy anyone else that it's become mainstrem parlance now to call Floyd "The Best Ever"?

I don't think he fits that title at all. If he wanted to embrace a somewhat obnoxious sounding nickname for publicity, sure ok. But the fact that I'm noticing some even supposedly unbiased sport commentators calling him that, unironically.

No one with a functioning brain actually referrs to Floyd as TBE/The Best Ever aside from his broke ass fans.

    It’s the younger generation
    Marketing genius he is
Repeat the same thing over & over again & people will start to believe it.

he is an ATG, but not TBE
Unless TBE = The Best (of his) Era

Boxing is only part of it. He found a way to break the bank as a safety first fighter, becoming the richest fighter in history. He turned an exhibition against a UFC fighter into a nine figure payday. He retired with all of his mental faculties, undefeated.

Years after his retirement, he is still the most recognizable face in the game.

Years after his retirement, he keeps his haters awake at night.

Years after his retirement, ESB is still obsessed.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Is clearly TBE.

Conor had more to do with the success of the fight because of his gifted ability in trash-talking, promoting the fight on late-night talk shows and other forms of social media, obviously at a level Floyd had never experienced before, in the lead-up to their fight.

    Sort of
Ali was loved by the people
    (Not ALL people obviously)
But loved by more people then hated by people.

    For sure.
I’m just expanding on your thought & completing it.
    ALI
Said he was the greatest but more people then not agreed with him because he was loved & embraced by them.

To be totally accurate Ali claimed he was the Greatest Heavyweight, he said he viewed Sugar Ray Robinson as the GOAT of overall boxing. Ali also has the legitimate argument to GOAT HW career, Floyd doesn't at any of his weight classes (correct me if I'm wrong there).
