This is embarrassing. Probably the best fight in boxing right now. Who is dropping the ball? Both of these guys should be desperate to fight each other. Sounds like mutual ducking.

Not until BIvol has that coward team.

I still can't understand, why Bivol is so inactive, when in reality, boxer of his age should be fighting as often as Canelo(at least)

I think it is pretty clear Bivol's team do not want that fight.

They are waiting for Beterbiev to look really vulnerable. Beterbiev is a huge LHW Bivol is small LHW. Beterbiev's pressure is real and he hits vrey hard, as good as Bivol is as making his opponents miss, he will get tagged.

Not saying Bivol would lose to Beterbiev, but Beterbiev is a decorated amateur veteran with elite skill & the size on Bivol...I don't really think a Bivol vs Beterbiev fight would gain that much popularity despite it being the best figth currently out there to be had...so it's also a big risk for Bivol and his team

    Bivol is out of options

    No Canelo fight

    No fight lined up

    Nothing Hearn has to offer

He could fight some British contenders: Yarde, Azeez, Buatsi, Arthur

Sky Sports could arrange something to try and push one of their leading guys into a WBA shot.

As for Beterbiev, he had 3 belts to defend and 3 mandatories potentially to face.

Beterbiev is a scary dude to fight he ended Gvozdyks career. Fighting him takes years off your life. Have to consider that.

He should be fighting anyone who will get in the ring with him at this point. Just stay active.

With Beterbiev as ones opponent, the old saying "hit and don't get hit" really has importance like nothing else.

I think that sadly there's not enough money out there for them to justify the risk of fighting each other. Bivol is a seriously high level outboxer and Beterbiev ends careers. Probably they would rather fight easier prey for almost the same money and that's sad.

Even though I’m not a big fan of Yarde I respect that he fought both Kov and Beterbiev. Dude is an absolute maniac for doing so lol and he paid the price by getting brutally beat down twice.

Russian boxing is in a sad state of affairs due to the war in Ukraine. They're not very popular fighters right now, and Hearn knows he can make more money by putting his promotional muscle behind the mediocre locals. I think the problem is that Hearn doesn't want Bivol to beat his local prospects because Bivol will beat them and diminish their value, but he can't get a lot of value out of Bivol.

I think the big issue is that there isn't a lot of money for a Bivol/Beterbiev fight. Hardcore fans want it obviously, but who else is going to pay to see 2 Russian fighters fight? Both guys need to take what they can get and make the unification happen.

I hope it gets made soon. Beterbiev isn't getting younger and Bivol is sitting on the shelve for too long and wasting his prime.

I genuinely think if it don’t happen by October next year beterbiev should just move up grab a cruiser weight title and then retire.
