He’s done zero promotion and marketing. He fights and goes on holiday and then turns down fights even world title fights because he wants rest or wants an easier opponent.

He attends next to no shows or media events to push his name and brand and in this day and age it’s not possible to do that and drive ticket sales. He’s fought Richard’s in a snooze fest and that’s practically it.

It's crazy that a fighter thinks like this.

You need to self promote. Get yourself out there and get over.

Simply fighting on sky sports alone isn't going to raise his profile. He needs to do more and really his last management company should have been drilling it into him about what he needs to start doing.

are any of the ***OLYMPIANS*** big ticket sellers? most started their careers tacked onto Joshua PPVs instead of being built organically in their hometowns. their hype and entitlement seems to have left fans cold and preferring their more “humble” rivals, e.g. Ritson and Josh Kelly, Fitzgerald and Fowler

Yes I read it and like I said again there was local fighters that sold well. I've seen shows from every promoter where the crowd thins as the main event isn't as entertaining.
Imo boxxer will be in a good position in another year or so.
They should have Azim through by then. Whitaker will be fighting championship bouts and Simpson ticks all the boxes but needs more learning fights/ domestic title fights. Cbs is there headlining shows although how long that will last well have to see. Boxxer ain't going anywhere soon. The only position which might get swapped around is Bens.
There female rosta is good. Marshall, Jonas and they work with some of the American females fir now. Dubois is a good fighter and a ibo world champ. She will only get better. Fran hennessy looks like a good bet for the future too.

As a consumer who wishes them well I've found the Boxxer events a bit of a tough watch. I can see your argument that they'll be better in 12 to 18 months, but if there's not tangible signs of that they must be feeling vulnerable when their contract date approaches. There'll surely be execs within Sky who question the risk /reward of their current boxing setup, especially when funds will be directed at maintaining their dominance within Premier League coverage. If one or more of their bets don't come in I could see Sky pivoting, maybe doing a cut price deal with Sauerland or just offering box office distribution for PPV fights. Big year needed for Ben and his team?

Lets be clear it wasny Buatsi who pulled out but personally whenever they do fight he needs to move on rapidly.

Maybe, let's hope not tho. Think Sky have a big cut of boxxer tho and the initial idea is to hold as much of the co as possible so what happened when MR left can't happen again.
So that says it's also a lot of Sky's input into the boxing and you'd hope that they are so far in that they'd carry on.

Azzez has come and criticised Hearn for his comments. Good on him. Hearn is a snake who always talks down good fights by rivals.

According to a few people who went, Buatsi vs Richards sold more tickets than the apparent 5k for Buatsi vs Azeez. Considering the fact that Buatsi vs Azeez had the Sky push plus a very good undercard, that's very surprising.

A lot of people here are saying that Hearn is making BS up about Azeez faking an injury, but it seems to me that something like that could have gone on. Shalom said he wants to reschedule it for the end of the year, but also apparently Azeez is unable to walk. It seems a bit fishy that this was announced on Tuesday too. They had enough time to get a replacement opponent for Buatsi as well. Add that to the fact Hearn said a few weeks ago that he heard the event wasn't going to go ahead, I don't think Hearn is far off at all.

Had an email from Ticketmaster about tickets for the York Hall now, and they seem outrageously priced.

£112 for a seat on the floor, £84 on the balcony or £56 for a standing ticket on the floor. Is that normal pricing for the York Hall? Seems ridiculous.

    Hence his numbers on Skyports.

His managers will keep collecting those cheques. Keep milking the cow. until the cow is dry and move to the next one.

The fighters need to realise theres managers out there that make sure they are paid. Dont get me wrong some managers are brilliant. Others offer dreams that simply are not reality. ALA Okolie who thought he had a rematch on a voluntary no longer having a rematch on a voluntary.

You must be trolling right? 99% of his fights are boring and he's hasn't had a big fight.

I like Dan and was looking forward to the fight but when he starts saying Eddie Hearn's comments are damaging to the youth who look up to him as a role model I lost the will to continue listening.
