Told anyone who listened he would never ever fight him again after finally being cornered by Showtime executives forces after Six years of avoidance only to be found clearing out his juiced system with his personal illegal IV's then proceeding to run the whole night away, not all money is good money especially when it come with an expense of a loss.

They are Showtime's primary, and really only, partner. The partnership dissolved when PBC could only point to a handful of fights people tuned in for despite being given a budget to operate by Showtime/Paramount, and it was entirely due to lack of quality control of who fought who and when; things fans have complained about for years.

For me, that's why they get mentioned; a lot of the blame can be laid at their feet.

Supposedly HBO is looking to get back in, but let's set that aside as it ignores your overall point. Top Rank has a better track record of bringing in constant views at or around the million mark, even at the height of football and basketball seasons. Would it be easy to get another deal somewhere else? Probably not, but their track record would suggest they'd get it. Top Rank doesn't have the same earned reputation of burning bridges and putting on shoddy fights no one wants to see.

I agree, and economic downturns aren't helping. It's why I think these promoters should consolidate on one platform, at least in the states, as that will go a long way in helping what I think is the real problem; the fights we want to see either taking forever or even never getting made.

I don't for the exact reason you just mentioned. They're already grumbling about getting "only" 10 million views per week for their Thursday night football game they paid upwards of a billion dollars for; what will they do the first Tank fight that only brings in 250k?

If they consolidate and, more importantly, put on the fights people want to see, DAZN would see profits. The demand for fights is there, whether quality bouts between top tiers or circus acts like Logan Paul and the MMA goof. There's a wealth of European, Australian, and Japanese talent to behold if you can get access. Hell, Korean boxing, while not fought at a particularly high level, has some wildly entertaining slugfests. You just have to put them on regularly enough to make the DAZN or ESPN+ subscription worth it. In that respect, I have far more faith in Top Rank or Matchroom than anyone at this point could possibly have in...well, other outfits.

Yeah that just shows how honest the State Commissions are , the NSAC covered Mayweather's back even though he broke at least 3 of their own rules on saline drip for supposed dehydration. He knew the rules yet he blatantly cheated. The NSAC know full well why he cheated yet still said " Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong we will not be investigating this " ROFL!! The CSAC know full well that their snatching away Margarito's boxing license based only on a blatant lie from Naz Richardson was WRONG!!!! There was absolutely no proof he ever did anything wrong but they still ruined his career & tarnished his good name by saying " We will not be returning Mr Margarito's license to Box in Ca because we still suspect he may have tried to cheat" ROFL:
What happened to the law "Any suspect is deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law " He never had a trial just a kangaroo court. Obviously their lawyers told them they had no grounds. If the State Commissions sold used cars would you buy one from them ????? I know I wouldn't trust en an inch

Literally just random bits of conversation from here or there with other boxing heads; nothing substantial at all that I've seen, so I'd take it with more than a grain of salt.

If you need to cite age as the sole reason for respect, especially in light of him lying about PBC and insulting the lower weight classes while pretending he was besties with a former super-bantamweight champion, I say he can get bent while drinking bleach.

    "Respectfully."

Even if they were to come back i doubt that would be able to create the same or greater atmosphere as they had especially pre 2015.

Too many things have changed from the fans that show up, too production & especially commentary which has just been dreadful no matter which network you choose.

there are multiple polls showing more than half of kids under 25 in the USA like no sports, let alone a dead one like boxing. Every sport is in trouble here in 10-15 years when they will be depending on that generation for attendance and tv ratings. Thus why the NFL is pushing Taylor Swift being at the games so hard.

Whelp, according to Dan Rafael, Al Haymon is not interested in joining with DAZN and DAZN isn't all that interested in them either. So much for the "bidding war" between them and an Amazon that is also not that interested in giving them heaps of cash to run cruddy shows (Chris Mannix).
