Outside of say Ali, who gets talk more?? Dempsey or Tunney?? Does Ezzard Charles gets more trends than Rocky Marciano?? Noo, Tyson gets way more talk than the likes of Lewis and Holyfiled.

today he's the biggest guy to ever be competent at the world level.

50 years from now he won't be.

Well according to quite a few people in the general forum, Ali, Tyson, Robinson, Duran, etc don't look so great on film and would lose to journeymen today!

And there are people here in classic who think Carnera is better than Bowe.

Both groups of people need to be in a mental asylum and have about as much critical thinking skills as a casual in a YouTube comment section.

    IMO Bivol.
His boxing style is not that attractive and spectacular to watch, but it is effective.
Of course, I don't decide, nor can I recognize, what anyone likes now. Or what future fans will like.

this is the thing for me...all he's done is beat Wilder who would have put Wlad to sleep at least half the time they just all kinda suck after LL hung em up though recently HW kinda sucks equally so there's some suspense when they fight...if they fight

Most of the top dogs will be viewed favourably, especially in any future “classic forum’, even at heavyweight, with a small minority giving a more balanced, unbiased view. Take for example an article in the Ring from about 30 years ago:

    “Perception- Today’s heavyweights are inferior;
Reality- They’ve never been that good”.

Based on what I have seen in posts: Some of the far future posters will say they are all bums, who could not beat a good 22nd Century Club Fighter. Some will say they are about the same as 22nd Century Contenders and Champions. Some will say the 21st Century Contenders would destroy any 22nd Century Champion.

The debate continues on ESB, well into the next Century. :deal:

Bivol totally embarrassed Canelo. He took him to school that is why the Ginger one refuses to entertain a rematch with Bivol @168 for all his trinkets . He's got no excuse now that Suliaman & the WBC have lifted their supposed ban on Russian fighters fighting for their belts. C'mon Ginger MAN UP !!!!

For mine, Fury has never looked that good in absolute terms.

In relative terms, when considering the immense size he’s working with, I can say he moves very well and is quite fast FOR a big man.

Generally speaking, the bigger they come - and they are getting bigger, the less adept they will look in understood P4P terms.

Without quibbling about the level of the competition, it would be hard for any HW to look as good as Ali did vs Williams, and also vs Terrell imo (fights going back some 55-56 years ago).

Ali didn’t just move well for a big man with relatively great reflexes and speed. The attributes he displayed were sublime in absolute terms.

Iron Mike also displayed time transcendent abilities, speed, reflex and the always incredibly compelling attribute of immense power - which is never not a WOW factor.

If he had been fighting in the 20s, people would ridicule his style.

I think Hopkins will be seen like MOST of (with a few exceptions), the Old Film footage pre 1940s, where timing, clarity and improper movement 'caught', mostly displays holding, lunging & grappling...

we rightly call him a Spoiler, but in the future he will be described as a crude limited, primitive and uneventful 'fighter', No Skill or Finesse at all. Except perhaps if they see the Pavlik fight, Bhop's finest display that I've seen of him anyway.

But yeah Bhop or early 20th Century footage could be viewed in a similar analyses.

Carl Froch is a great shout. People don't consider him a great even today.
