I found a video of the fight between Archie Moore and Alain Cherville. I'm not sure if everyone can watch it since it's from a German public broadcaster (maybe via VPN). https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/s...e-ton/swr/Y3JpZDovL3N3ci5kZS9hZXgvbzExNjM1NDU + Archie Moore at training: https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/s...e-ton/swr/Y3JpZDovL3N3ci5kZS9hZXgvbzExNjM1MDI
Gorgeous footage. Never seen this before. Archie is so patient, so sound, so composed. He steadily chopped the man down. Reminds me of the tale related in “Silence of the Lambs,” when Hannibal Lecter chewed a nurse’s face off and ate her tongue and his pulse never rose above 85 beats per minute, haha.
That ref looks exactly like Max Schmeling, wonder if it's him? It looked like the downed fighter grabbed his groin like he'd been hit low - looked like someone was telling him to stay down!
Great, new to me, footage of surely one of the most revered boxers of all time, amongst boxing fans. The following year he had the classic with Durelle. An amazing performer. Many thanks.
Can’t see it. Riddick had like 40-something fights, probably close to half of them at the contender or championship level against good opposition, and never got stopped. Bowe had a solid chin and balls made of iron, as he showed vs. Golota.
A few more vids from the same source.
