Andre Ward’s new book coming out Nov 14th, 2023.

I like Ward. He was dirty at times, but his skills, IQ and grit is commendable. I’m especially impressed at how easily he dominated Froch.

But he is not a five-time world champion though, is he?

 

He's a master controller. He knows basically everything about control in a fight. He's not very popular in this forum, but he's a hell of a fighter.

I couldnt mention a good trainer for Haney in another thread. Well, Ward's trainer would be a good option. It was virgil hunter right? Haney would benefit a lot from that knowledge.

 

Virgil Hunter is horrible, Haney needs to stay away in fact there's so many fresh new trainer minds out there everyday might as well get his team out there to scout some.

 

I didn't even watch his documentary that was obviously a big time gesture from SHOWTIME to sway Andre to their side of the booth, too bad that they are now out of business but i guess there's always the next network in the future for SOG's consistent unbiased commentary, here's to hoping.

Yes I'll always support The Tijuana Tornado & proud to have known him all those years. How you can support that little cowardly, cheating , woman beating POS I'll never understand. Haney needs to grow a set & rematch Loma , but he wont he'll do what Jermall Charlo did when he robbed Matty Korobov he'll run & hide. Matty really embarrassed Mall didn't he lol

 

Did he ever fight outside of Oakland OLu ? I cant remember him having the stones

 

There was a book titled "A Fighter's Heart: One Man's Journey Through the World of Fighting" written by Sam Sheridan. He was just a normal guy who had a passion for martial arts and became a writer. When he was young, he went to different hot beds of combat sports and trained with them. He lived and trained at a muay thai camp in Thailand. He fought and won at least one professional muay thai fight while he was there. He trained mixed-martial arts at Miletich Fighting Systems in Iowa under Pat Miletich.

He was also allowed to train and hang out alongside Andre Ward and Virgil Hunter at their gym for a time. Andre was still just a highly-touted prospect at this point and was ascending towards the top. It was interesting to read a third party account about this period in Ward's life before he fully developed as the great fighter he became.

Ward was a fantastic boxer. Yes, he was definitely dirty. Nobody can deny that. But I always enjoyed watching his mastery of the sport.

 

Should've could've but didn't same old story while Loma gets more old, I know it would be a difficult task but I'd rather Loma now go after Shakur besides what else is left on his table.
