Lewis fought 3 times a year on multiple occasions. Asking Usyk to fight again in December is totally reasonable. That's 4 months between fights. What's the issue?

His last fight was a soft touch against an undeserving challenger. Before that he had a full year off which is ridiculous.

Usyk had as much time off as he did before Dubois because Fury massively delayed and eventually blew up negotiations, (before any smooth brain says something, I didn't say Fury ended negotiations, I said Fury blew them up, as you'd expect after making additional demands after successfully getting a 70/30 split).

Just like he did with Fury v Klitschko 2, a fight that we know for a fact never ended up happening because of Fury.

Just like he did with Fury v AJ, a fight that we know for a fact never ended up happening because of Fury.

Just like he attempted to do again with Fury v Wilder 3 before he was told he was unable to breach his contract. Another fight that we know for a fact never would have happened had Fury gotten his way.

Before Fury delayed Usyk his country went to war, and before that was COVID, when everyone was inactive.

Usyk's last fight was a mandatory, so Dubois being undeserving had nothing to do with Usyk.

It's weird you bring this up considering Fury's last fight was a VOLUNTARY title defence against Derek Chisora that happened in 2022. Fury chooses a trash opponent and then chooses to defend his title 12 months later? No issues. Usyk doesn't have a choice in his opponent and then chooses to defend his title 5 months later instead of 3 months of later? What a dick head.

Plus the Dubois fight happened in the last week of August, with the December date being for the first week of December, so he'd only have 3 months off. Regardless though if anything you're actually somewhat proving my point. If you don't think Usyk having 4 months off between fights is an issue, why is Usyk having 5 months off between fights an issue? Baring in mind that most people were saying this attempt at Usyk v Fury would take place in February anyway? It seems like you're just complaining to complain.

Usyk had a REAL fight in late August.

Fury is fighting a UFC guy on pro debut.

    That’s where the BS resides.

As far as Fury is concerned, Ngannou isn’t a real fight.

However, with an obvious view toward Usyk in Dec, Tyson has given this fight good prep and has shed some notable kilos - which he will obviously benefit from after the Ngannou fight, when he picks up training again to prep for Usyk.

I usually disagree with every word you say about heavyweight boxing.

But I do agree here, Fury is trying to make the fight this year.

If you ask any boxing fan if they want to see Fury v Usyk before the end of 23 they'd all say yes. Honestly don't understand the backlash by a minority.

Fury is right, Usyk needs to fight him if he wants to secure his legacy.

Usyk could fight Fury, if he wins he can defend against Wilder (when he beats AJ) then retire with a mega money defence against Zhang in China. Job done.

Because this appears to be smoke and mirrors from Fury, again.
Following Usyk's recent victory of Dubois he stated that December wouldn't be an option due to historical injuries or along the lines of that - so, naturally Fury states Usyk MUST fight in December, knowing he'd already stated that wasn't an option.

It's mental gymnastics by Fury to try and drag Usyk's name. Hopefully, Usyk is healthy and can take the December date.

Who cares what it appears to be. Just make the fight asap.

    No marinating required.

It would be a great way to finish off 2023. Three big fights in a year that started off slowly...

    - Tank vs Garcia
    - Spence vs Crawford
    - Usyk vs Fury

Plenty of people were more active than Usyk during covid that's hardly a good excuse. And Usyk could have taken quality fights while waiting on Fury like fighting Hrgovic in late 2022 early 2023 rather than wasting time.

December 23rd is almost exactly 4 months removed from the Dubois fight so again not 3 months

I wouldn't class Tank v Garcia as close to the level of the other two tbh but I agree with the sentiment.

"If you ask any boxing fan if they want to see Fury v Usyk before the end of 23 they'd all say yes".

If you asked a boxing fan if they wanted to see Fury v Usyk last week they'd say yes. Fans wanting fights to happen quickly isn't really indicative of any wrong doing on Usyk's part, especially when most people expected that it WOULDN'T be in December when it was first getting re-re-re announced. The first dates brought up were February.

It's also very convenient to say "Fury wants the fight this year" when he delayed the fight from happening earlier in the year.

I don't give someone credit for showing up early to an event, if that event had to be rearranged to fit their schedule as a result of them always being late

So we both want the fight to happen this year, which is what Fury is saying.

Let's hope Usyk agrees with us 3.

Dubois v Chisora wouldn't even be a world level fight. It would be a domestic level dust-up.

How’d you feel when Fury tested positive for PEDs?
