Stopped Henry Cooper, stopped Eddie Machen (taking his 0), and finally took the crown from Patterson. What a time for the Swedes it must have been.
I can imagine the acclaim he must have had not only in Sweden but in all Europe. Unfortunately for him, it didn't last long.
Certainly, Ingo's run through the division is highest point for a Swedish fighter. Otto Wallin has a chance to take up residence in 2nd place should he someday win the heavyweight title.
Makes me wonder how highly Ingo would of been ranked after he flatten Patterson the first time. he just said that's it, I am retired lol. A perfect 22-0 record, destory contenders and the champ, and retired on top.
Yeah fantasy fight wise, Ingo would be WAY up there. It would be hard to think of him losing to say George Foreman when Ingo lands his right, or blasted Holmes out of there. Today because of his wars with Patterson, we know he is a bit chinny, but just image he just retired after blasted Patterson out in the manner that he did. He be view as some unstoppable god.
