We weren’t talking about the event though, we were talking about the undercard. Stick to the subject and don’t diverge. Convenient how you ignore all the York Hall shows Boxxer and Queensberry have been putting on if you want to talk about events. The highest grossing gate in the UK and Ireland this year was Taylor vs Cameron…
The undercard is the best I have seen for a long time and the last time a Box Office event had an undercard like this was Fury v Wilder 3. I stated that Bakole would stick it to Joshua and he would melt but any live fighter will beat him now. There is a reason Joshua is fighting no hope plodders Franklin, Helenius and attempted to fleece the public with another Box Office against another Matchroom Drug Test Failure No Hoper Dillian Whyte. Credit to Bob Arum and Frank Warren for sticking on such a huge event for UK boxing fans to watch.
The thread is "Fury-Ngannou" - I know, because I started it. Put there to talk about the state of Fury and the frankly cheap nature of the public workout coverage. You diverted to the undercard, Astro is following the thread.
Undercard for this is solid All known fighters to UK audiences which helps draw a fan in that isn't bothered about the silly main event
Would not like to be in Saudi Arabia late at night with Big John Fury coming towards you wearing a black burka.
John Fury is tragic. His persona was amusing at the start but it’s genuinely pathetic how this failure of a man insists on living vicariously through his sons’ successes. If there was one man on the planet who needs to get chinned (again) to instil some humility in him it’s John Fury. “I’ll fight any man”, sure John, except for Micky Theo, ain’t that right…
I'm convinced he genuinely thinks he could spark out David Haye, he's obvs forgotten Haye was Heavyweight champion of the world at one point. I'd love Haye to "gluss him" It's also embarrassingly desperate how much he wants a huge payday fight against Mike Tyson.
‘Stick to the subject and don’t diverge’ are you the boss of the forum or something? Noticed you keep talking York Hall down. It’s an iconic place of British boxing. I watched your hero AJ fight there once.
I would ignore him from time to time. I do admire Drama in a lot of ways. He is an extremely loyal man. The fact is his he is so agenda laden it does get tiresome. If AJ was fighting Ngannou in Saudi he would be all over it. We are all a bit fed of up Fury but the fight he on and he is getting plenty of bag for a sparring session really. Too easy a payday to turndown, even if it isn’t for me and I won’t be watching.
WTF this is a pretty shilly post even for this board. It is nothing like Fury v Wilder 3. Outside of Wardley v Adeleye, every fight is EXTEMELY predictable. Bakole and Takam are close friends. Takam is 42 now. So there is zero jeopardy there for Bakole. Parker v Kean. Zero jeopardy for Parker Makhmudov v a 36 year old also ran cruiserweight. FFS why even bother. Moses Itaumu v who the **** cares. There were potentially good match ups to be made on this undercard, but instead Queenberry and Top Rank are giving us absolute trash match-ups. Thank goodness there is at least Wardley v Adeleye to save this card. But basically, paying PPV for a British Title fight between two guys who might not make it at Eurolevel, is an ask for British boxing fans, let alone overseas fans. Now compare: Fury v Wilder 3 Just in the heavyweights it had Ajagba v Sanchez, two guys who are now fringe contenders at the world level. It also had Helenius v Kownacki 2 in an interesting rematch (of their WBA eliminator). And Jared Anderson as the up-and-comer at least took on someone that was unbeaten (who didn't look like a part time Gregg's pastry tester). That card shits all over this one. And if you must do a Joshua comparison. Usyk v Joshua 2 was a far better card all round for boxing fans than this money grab. I need a drink
He's not a man, he's a kid. This isn't about loyalty this is posters on his dorm room wall, twitter spamming, childish behaviour. The lad will grow up and see sense eventually.
