Tyson Luke Fury vs. Francis Zavier Ngannou & Fabio Wardley vs. David Adeleye RBR.

He did but probably lost those last few too after encouraging & approving Terrorists acts.

 

Yeh but they are boxers this is an mma guy. I would have expected any top 20/30 hw to wipe the floor with ngannou. An mma guy shouldn't be able to do that to any legit boxer mevermind the champ.of the world. Completely shocked.

 

Anywhere from 96-93 Fury to 95-94 Ngannou was fair. The judges were on point.

 

The pork belly slice era is coming to a close.

Laughable then as some rate him as the best of all time...bellys had his moments, yeah. But the best ever?....nah.

 

Usyk is so handsome with hair.

If I was gay, I'd hit it.

 

I thought Fury was shameless. He can barely even look at Usyk now after this fight. Maybe he does have a shred of self awareness. Just a shred. Knows well enough what an embarrassment he is.

 

Fury won fair and square, 95-94 is reasonable.

He also looked like utter **** and barely scraped by by the skin of his teeth.

The continuous attempts to grapple with Ngannu and getting repeatedly punished and then not changing tac was embarrassing.

Lack of ability to change plan, his legs looked stiff, his combinations were one-dimensional, and all the rounds he won, he won jabbing on the back-foot and whenever he put it on Ngannu, again he was punished.

Gets schooled by Usyk on that performance.

 

Similar to my thoughts as well. I had 5-4-1 Fury, but could see another Francis round being even instead. Not sure how Francis can be given 6 rounds without giving him both even rounds, and really if anyone won the other one it was Fury. Francis just didn't do enough in many rounds, although the same could be said of Fury. That's why I like using even rounds - it feels bad for nothing-happening rounds to decide the outcome of a fight.

It was an exhibition. I suspect that the Saudi money dictated the course of the fight.

 

Ngannou should get a shot at the winner of the Usyk vs Fury fight, there were lots of close rounds but on my card Ngannou edged it due to the knockdown

 

OK, I'm not trying to be overly dramatic here - but that was a loss against a dubutante, so it was unquestionably a very damaging evening for Fury's reputation.

The reason that I ask if he was exposed is - it seems to me that most or all of Fury's successes rely on him being the bigger and stronger man (for the record - for all Wilder's power, he is not physically strong - he's light and has thin legs. Fury can bully him inside. This is usually the fight people use as a yardstick for his ability to fight big men).

Fury's outside skills and slickness and speed are all well and good, when he can get inside and bully the guy and tire him out also. Same is true for his switch hitting skills and feints. He is skilled in these regards NO DOUBT. But his size and strength is what makes these assets remarkable (and cover for his relative lack of power).

In this fight, Ngannou was physically stronger and almost as big. So when Fury's punches were bouncing off him and not affecting him, Fury had no real answers. He couldn't bully him inside, couldn't rough him up, couldn't wear him out or hurt him. And in that circumstance, all of his feints and his switch hitting amounted to basically nought. His presumed primary attributes were essentially nullified. Which makes you wonder wether their effectiveness have always been predicated on him being the bigger stronger man.

This is from a Fury fan, by the way. I am a fan of Fury, Wilder, Joshua AND Usyk! But just very surprised at how ineffective he was tonight.

Sounds like Fury is proper ****ed. Has to fight Usyk in less than 2 months or he's getting sued.

 

Absolutely a fair comment... The point is Fury's been massively overhyped on the back of Wilders insanely inflated reputation as a serious fighter despite a resume of 99% bums... Chisora and Whyte being in terrible condition means they don't save Fury's recent resume from rank mediocrity.
