Seen this before with fighters on the coke etc, it's like they lose it all over night. Yes ngannou was there to make it a serious fight, but still should have been straight forward for Fury. Seen it with McGregor in MMA, Josh Taylor in boxing they're on top for a few years the celebrity stuff takes over, they get on the sniff and still perform well so think they can take more til suddenly their performances fall off a cliff.
It really is crazy when you consider how many professional fighters, or athletes in general, have substance abuse problems. They literally make their livelihood on the physical condition and performance of their bodies. And unlike a baseball player like Darryl Strawberry, these guys can get seriously hurt or even potentially killed if something goes wrong in a fight. I get that fighters are often mentally damaged people or high-risk taking adrenaline junkies. They see themselves as invincible and can't even foresee their own mortality. But that's the kind of mindset you'd expect out of a teenager, not a full grown world champion adult. You would think they would wait until they retired to engage in those kind of recreational activities.
AJ should re-bulk up and fight Fury now. While Francis should become a long term pro boxer now where the money is bigger. And Wilder should call out Francis, and fight him. It could revitalize his career.
Fury has also had issues with alcoholism and obesity as well. The fact that he came back after ballooning up like that and managed to beat Wilder was pretty crazy. I remember everybody here mocking Fury after the Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta fights. And yet he came back to a world class level. But there's no way that you can balloon up to morbid obesity (he was already fat to begin with) and then just slim back down and expect that your body isn't going to take a serious toll from it. He had talent, but he never had the dedication that you would want from a championship level fighter.
Yeah still amazing achievements by Fury but this stuff coming back into his life and haunting him now. Like eye of the tiger days, "too many times it happens too fast, you trade your passion for glory".
Has nobody been paying attention to both Fury & Usyk? Both have been on the slide since 2020. Fury turning up to fight not throwing a single jab I mean it's ridiculous but it's well known both his elbows are shot. Usyk's right shoulder is shot, you see him in fights stretching it out (both shoulders actually, but he has surgery on his right shoulder, Fury has surgery on only his left elbow but really needs it on his right) Fury Usyk is about who can turn up on better form, which everyone is going to favour Usyk in that regard and who fights a better gameplan. Fury has just had his clinching and bullying confidence smashed to ground zero and that's a big part of how he is going to fight Usyk. All of these guys are just normal men it's us who put them on crazy pedestals then tear them down when they fall below expectations. Watch Fury & Usyk's last 2 fights. Then go and watch them 3 years ago then 6 years ago. Big difference and it's no surprise if you account the wear and tear.

I dga flying **** about fury, but boxing got ***** slapped today by Ngannou's left pimp hand, ahah. Arguably the best hw got floored, mocked and won a split decision over mma fighter, who never had a pro boxing fight, never boxed 10 rounds and probably punching technique consumes only a third or max half of his training, since he is a mma fighter. Is anybody on mma forums? They are probably laughing their ass off right now.
How can you say this now, and claim on another post in September 2021 that we "have yet to see Fury's Super Sayan form"?
Fair play I have noticed how big a part of his game the clinch work etc is and how Ngannou could negate that but he needs to surely at his level have more versatility than that. Yes Ngannou is a quality boxer for MMA standards, but objectively I don't think he's that good. Fury might have shoe shined his way to a decision win but he should have obliterated him. The speed and agility, reactions and punch resistance of Fury all looked diminished. Maybe that's because of how good Ngannou was but it didn't seem like all that to me.
I think the bottom line is many (Including myself) have underestimated the boxing skills that top MMA fighters have. YES Fury should in all reality have won easily. But I think even Fury himself underestimated him a little bit. And hey, that’s on him! Many Top level MMA fighters have good boxing. And power in their hands. 6’4 272lbs prior MMA belt holder with known power. Really not too surprising he got caught and dropped in the 3rd. I mean if McGregor put a little more sauce on that uppercut he caught Floyd with, he would’ve dropped him too most likely. Lol It can happen!
It's a shame. I dump on Fury every chance I get, but he destroyed a career that could have been great, and made it look easy. If only he stayed serious and committed after the Wlad fight. Think about this, if he had given Wlad the rematch, won, beat AJ and Wilder in the year after dispatching Wlad. Defend twice a year until now, he would have 12-14 title defenses and setting up the big finale with Usyk. Greatness was well within his grasp, but he opted to party.
After watching the fight I definitely think Fury won, yesterday when it was on my stream kept dying. I only gave ngannou 2 rounds 3rd and the 8th but Fury definitely didn't impress.
