Some people are always at the gym. Some people keep themselves in shape.

And then there is realty TV wannabe Tyson Fury.

Honestly I'd like to see him get a rematch.

Last night was an exception. Fury was a slob disgrace and Francis fight a surprisingly good fight. I don’t see anyone from the MMA lower weights lacing up some gloves and taking on the likes of Crawford, Boots, Canelo or Bivol, etc. I also don’t see any of this types of fights happening. If anything, MMA guys might be matched up with retired boxers. They have big names, are usually slower and the fights might be more competitive. Guys like Crawford toy and destroy any MMA fighters near their weight.

Fury may have given some MMA guys some false hope but that hope would be destroyed thirty seconds into the fight for any MMA fighter. Hope this at least forces tightwad Dana White to pay his fighters more. The only reason MMA guys are so keen to step into the ring with a boxer is the payout (which is often a career high). The fans will catch on eventually because the fights are rarely entertaining, although I have to admit I enjoyed seeing FN give Fury the business last night.

I don't think Fury can live knowing how close that fight was

Even it it means risk losing in a rematch. He will rematch that man.

Boxing is in the pits.. I thought Ngannou was as awful as I expected.. apart from he was able to pace himself and not get overawed better than I thought he would .. if you look at his actual performance it was poor, he's technically mediocre and has very low output .. it's just that Tyson's performance was so bad and pathetic that he somehow made a guy who's probably got no business being in the Ring with someone like fkin Ajagbe even look good... greedy arrogant twat just bumped into some karma... this fight was completely needless and unwanted & fury has taken the sport down with him .. even worse all those great Legends were there to watch him do it .. how fkin cringe.. rematch him immediately or FO ppl are sick of your ****.. I love this sport and can take or leave MMA but I bet they are laughing at us now and rightly so.. historic fk up of monumental proportions

    I don't think it'll happen.

The way I see it, Fury will either take Usyk and then retire (probably losing) rather than rematch Usyk... Or he'll retire to avoid risking his undefeated against Usyk.

In either case, I don't think he'll go back in with Francis.

All the guys he beat except an ancient Silva were not strikers by MMA standards. In fact, Askren was known for having some of the worst stand up of all time.

I think at HW Gane and Pavlovich could probably do okay for themselves. Both big and athletic, Gane more technical than Ngannou and Pavlovich seemingly carrying similar power.

Lower divisions are a different story though. Raw size/strength/power/athleticism goes a lot further at HW.

    Mma>boxing
They make the big fights and they have a legit win over an undefeated champion

They also had that clown lobov who beat Pauline in bare knuckle

That was humiliating for boxing. Promoters Need to start making these bloody fights happen now, as boxing is sadly a joke

We will never see a boxer do that in mma. Good to see francis winning, but that was terrible for boxing, make no mistake

    He cannot right that wrong
I don't care if he beats Usyk, Aj and sparks Franics in a round if there is a rematch

Fury lost to a guy making his debut and it cannot be corrected. It would be different if he was long retired, but the guy is WBC champ and many view him as lineal

He can not do anything to fix what happened last night. Mma fans and haters will forever say Fury needed corrupt judges to beat a guy making his debut

It's the biggest L ever in boxing imo. Forget about Tyson losing to Douglas. Or the fat guy beating the bottler. This is even worse

The truth is that a lot of these mma guys might have some genuine boxing talent. I’ve seen this one mma fighter from my gym school the boxers with no trouble. If they have a crazy work ethic and some talent it’s enough to beat like 90% of boxers honestly. Wouldn’t give them any real shot at an in shape boxing contender or champion though.

I get it now, we all should. It's a generally low risk/high reward for the individual fighter, but a seriously high risk / low reward for the sport as a whole. Go ahead and make the money that comes with it but accept the responsibility to protect the sport on that night. Fury didn't get the memo. They had to hand him a terrible decision to save face for a future event. Did anyone see one of the Saudis talking to Francis in his ear around the time the results were being read? Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure he got his explanation/compensation promise in the ring lol. Floyd did several of these but I'll give him his props for not allowing anything crazy to happen. Imagine if McGregor would have been able to drop Floyd like Fury was in that fight. We would still be discussing that nail in the coffin to this day. And while I don't think this fight is a death knell for the sport it was highly embarrassing at the least. Fury can make up for it by getting his head out of his ass and making a good showing in this last stretch of his career.

If he sparks him out in one it"s forgiven. Come on.
