Fury has used physicality many times. The difference is, Wilder cannot fight backing up and is giving up 30+ lbs to Fury with a slender frame. Those are major factors that were most obvious in their 2nd fight when Wilder was absolutely shocked Fury dared to actually approach him on the front foot, backed him up, threw aggressive punches, and clinched him to wear him out.

Fury can lean on guys and use his height/reach against other opponents too, but Wilder was particularly vulnerable because of how incredibly 1-dimensional he is. And most HW opponents aren't going to be 215-225, they're going to be 240-250+ and Fury won't be able to just bully them.

Was the Ali that Leon Spinks beat the same Ali who dazzled crowds with his footwork in the 60's...? Rhetorical question.

Leon had an amateur boxing career and a few pro fights before he beat an Ali who was way past his prime. That's not the same as Francis having ZERO amateur or pro boxing matches, yet somehow knocking down a world boxing champion and making the fight itself competitive.

Could it be that Fury isn't as good as people think. I mean, if I did a "Fury vs Floyd Patterson" thread, many would pick him to wipe the floor with Patterson. But, a 1 fight novice in Ngannou nearly beat him. Maybe Fury would lose to those small, old time heavies.

That's my entire point. Fury isn't some top 10 h2h monster demigod who could beat every single HW who came before him. This was never reality and people greatly overestimated his capabilities because of his size and undefeated record.

The absolute best Lewis, Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, Holyfield, Ali, Holmes, Vlad Klit, Vit Klit, Povetkin, Foreman, Usyk, all give Fury fits or beat the breaks off of him. Fury beat a Vlad Klit who's wife was going through suicide watch levels of post natal depression and a champion in Wilder who beat.......nobody. Since his best win post comeback against Wilder, he's best shot to **** Chisora, never really was Whyte and total novice Ngannou. This is the supposed best HW on the planet? I'll save that title for Usyk thankyou very much

Let's keep it simple. He is used to throw, land, slip, block, eat, punches. Period.
You can say official zero amateur or pro boxing on paper, but in real life that is false, the experience that counts is the real life experience.

Who is Pat M? And anyone who highly rates Wilder is delusional...fun fighter, but that's all. And Fury is clearly limited as well.

Sure, Fury has used his physical mass in fights before. The point I was making is that him not being able to overwhelm an opponent physically (as, for example, he did Wilder II) shouldn't present a tight spot for him, since he has shown us in previous fights that he needn't rely too heavily upon this aspect of physicality.

It had not been something we'd seen Fury employ in anger until the second Wilder fight. Prior to that, while he was not fitting into any particular style bracket, he was really, in the main, a very big man who moved well as an out-fighter (Chisora II, Wlad, Wilder I), unpredictable and awkward.

He's someone who claims to be a boxing trainer on here but he has some really biased takes on modern fighters.

Another head scratching analysis from him is he thinks Canelo would beat Marciano.

Not sure if people can see this link, but Fury makes no excuses and insists he trained hard.

If he isn't blaming it on being out of shape/underestimating Francis, nobody should.

No. Absolutely not. Imo he won by a close margin. But he did kind of embarrass himself and also put the most important fight in jeopardy.

Fury shouldn't be favoured against Martin Bakole right now. He's a shocking flabbermuffin who's lost all his footspeed, sharpness, balance, and heart. That makes him little more than a big guy who knows how to lean on smaller fighters and spoil his way to victory (earned or not). In other words: useless.

Usyk beats him pillar to post. That doesn't even warrant an argument any more.

    Joshua takes him out.

Wilder still loses because Wilder is even more useless than Fury is.

    Zhang KOs him brutally.

Joyce mauls him for twelve and then gets robbed on the cards.

Makhmudov and Bakole both give him the business. Bakole would give him Ngannou flashbacks and cause him to crap the bed.

Hrgovic outpoints him and gets robbed on the cards.

Jai Opetaia outclasses him and gets robbed on the cards.

He probably beats Parker if that's any consolation.
