Did Fury and Usyk lose millions after Fury's poor showing tonight? You could see Usyk was not happy.

For some reason, people assume that Usyk is just as obsessed with money as Fury.

When Fury was knocked down, his expression to me read like "f**k no, I wanted to do that". He said numerous times how he wanted to fight Fury even without the belts. He wants to prove a point by beating the guy most think is the best HW today. After Ngannou, that perception about Fury changed and it won't have the same impact when Usyk beats him. So I think in that moment Usyk just rued the opportunity to be the one to expose Fury.

Probably a bit of both. They are essentially partners in an enterprise and Fury let it down. Could easily see the Saudis pulling the plug and there's no chance of anyone suing them.

I'm sure Usyk is relieved Fury won because he isn't going to make those sorts of millions anywhere other than fighting Fury.

This is the first time Fury has been matched close in size and struggled, not good for the rep, his gone from a all time great to a weight bully over night on the forums

Fury's stock has fallen behind AJ, Wilder and arguably Zhang now. Yes, it won't have the same impact to Usyk's legacy beating Fury post-Ngannou than pre. Unifying the belts will still be nice but I'm not convinced Fury will ever fight Usyk at this point.

My prediction for Fury is if he does lose to Usyk he won't trigger the rematch clause and may run to fight Francis a second time for bigger money.

Most certainly, that’s why Usyk’s PPV numbers s**t all over Fury’s. Usyk is such a no draw that his Chisora fight sold three times as many PPVs as the Fury-Chisora trilogy, and the Usyk-Bellew match sold more PPVs than the Klitschko-Fury.

Good ol’ Fish Eye couldn’t put two and two together when in an interview he claimed that Usyk only agreed to 30 per cent against Fury because he couldn’t get a payday like that anywhere else. Then five sentences later he blabbered about how Team Usyk pulled the plug on the whole thing so it’s their fault the fight collapsed.

Schrödinger’ boxer, this Usyk. Simultaneously wants the payday only Fury can give him and doesn’t want the payday only Fury can give him. Amazing stuff.

Fury in the middle east is the biggest payday out there for Usyk. It's that simple.

Yet he still agreed to 30 per cent for a Wembley fight. Also, his Joshua rematch trumped everything Fury ever made with a fight.

Work a bit harder on your pro-Fury angle, it’s not adding up, mate.

Anyway, it seems that Fury fans are just as obsessed with money as the man himself. What’s that all about? Usyk has always been famously easy to deal with for his philosophy has always been “do well in the ring and the money will follow”. Do you seriously believe he could not make crossover exhibitions in Saudi for mega money? Usyk is extremely popular there. But he is a true champion, and his legacy is his priority. I know it must be hard for you guys to understand, but it’s still a thing - fighters prioritising legacy over getting money with whatever ridiculous Mickey Mouse way they can. WWE, fighting (and getting beaten by) MMA guys, Netflix shows, whatever. As a boxing fan, I’m kind of big on that, champions who care about their legacy first and foremost but you do you, mate.

    Your narrative is blinding you.

Fury in the middle east is the biggest payday out there for Usyk.

Can you not read? Or are you just not able to connect the dots?

It's. Not. Just. About. The. Money. For. Everyone.

    Everyone. Is. Not. Like. Fury.

We had a clear top 2 prior to yesterday. Now Ngannou has put his name in the discussion. Big Bang is right there too as he's put in the most emphatic heavyweight performances of 2023. The hype has definitely been diminished for me as I won't be sure whoever wins the fight is actually top of the tree.
