The consensus on the forum (for what that's worth lol) is that 2023 Ngannou is better than a 2014 Chisora. The "journeyman" who would give Usyk a tougher test at heavyweight than Joshua the first time, as well as a better fight than any cruiser save Briedis. Usyk had a hard time dealing with Chisora's pressure and the 3 stone weight deficit, even though he was levels above in skill.

I don't know what has more power, it doesn't really matter. Maybe he wouldn't see the punch from Zhang and it would knock him out. Besides, even if I grant he has an Oliver Mccall-esque chin, he could easily lose every round to his opponent. His chin will mean ****-all.

Ngannous chin is fresh, didnt took much damage and Ganes head kick skipped off francis shoulder first but it can be cracked. He can eat punches from smaller guys that are not known for their power. Any1 of the big bangers from 250-300 can crack that chin.

When it comes to MMA, Mark Hunt has to be the only one ihmo with a legit granite chin. Dude ate Cro Cops kick like idk and bunch of other stuff.

Ngannous chin hasnt been tested enough.

Why are combat fans so weird?

The question was Whyte against Fury and I never picked Whyte to beat him. He was a huge underdog for a reason. Whyte was never that good, barely got past Parker, Chisora, and even Helenius. Knocked out cold against a walking corpse in Povertkin.

Ngannou does have some attributes, he probably has an iron chin. But there was nothing to indicate he has the skills to beat any of the top HWs. He looked slow and his footwork was pretty **** poor. It's just that Fury looked worse, which is hard to believe.

The question was actually Whyte and Wallin, then Gassiev and Wallin. People said the exact same about Wallin that they are now saying about Ngannou. "He just caught Fury on an off night, he's no good, he'll lose to Whyte, he'll lose to Gassiev."

Whyte barely got past Parker and Chisora, he beat Helenius very wide. But at least he got past Parker and Chisora in some fashion, Takam did not. Takam also gave Joshua and Povetkin fewer problems than Whyte did. Whyte is probably Povetkin's best win.

    "any of the top HWs"

Depends how narrowly you define it, if they match him correctly he will have success. Ex-kickboxer/MMA fighter Whyte is Joshua's 3rd best win for instance, was he more dangerous than Ngannou?

He landed punches on Fury who is slicker than those guys you mentioned.

Deductive logic. What works on a higher skill head movement will work on a lower skilled one. Zhang has no head movement.

The guy fights like a turtle. I have a hard time believing Francis can hurt drop and have the precision to bang Fury to the head and body but 40 year old Zhang who is less combat tested than Fury will persevere or not receive the same treatment. Zhang isn't even a good defensive fighter. I seen five of his fights, one where he fought a mid level guy and just kept getting his head snapped back by a jab and him smirking. Let him try that with Francis.

I actually think Ngannou looked pretty good and WAY better than expected.

It's just about the fact that he has only one fight against top-HW who is well past his best. And there are different styles, different punching power, size etc. And we simply don't know how Ngannou deals with it until (at least) his next fight.

Hopefully he goes on, he's light years ahead in terms of boxing skills compared to the likes of Tyson Woodley or Conor McGregor.

The legitimacy of our sport is in jeopardy. We need someone to either K.O francis or beat him from pillar to post to reclaim the sport. I think usyk is too small and doesn't hit hard enough, wilder is a 1 trick pony and might also get beaten. I say we send in AJ or ruiz.

Let's see Ngannou against Parker. A decent opponent, past his best, not a puncher by any means, but has some boxing skills and heart.

If Ngannou defeats him - then someone like Joyce would be interesting too.

I don't like the idea of Ngannou fighting only the top-5 HWs and ending his pro career with 0-3 record.

Send in the Juggernaut, Zhang and Makhmudov

Heavy Artillery is the only way to flatten Ngannou and shut the detractors up. I will stand for the boxing disrespect no longer. This is all Furys fault

Fury didn't look all the slick getting dropped by a telegraphed punch from Ngannou.

We'll see, if Zhang fights Ngannou I'll have no problem betting Zhang.

Bakole would bully and brutalise Ngannou, so would AJ, Zhang , Whyte (there's the chance Whyte gets flattened with an uppercut however) etc

Ngannou's being hyped to the high heaven after he beat a fat inconsistent low life that likely didn't train properly.

zhang is also a good choice. Francis doesn't move his head much, so that heavy left is going to land right on the chin.
