Joshua hasn't taken anyone out within 6 rounds since Molina in 2016, that's 11 fights ago. He'd try to do a Ruiz 2 against Ngannou. Problem is Ngannou isn't 6', 284 lbs morbidly obese, untrained, with below average power. He also isn't Whyte-victim Franklin or Wilder KO1-victim Helenius.

A poll I ran came back with the results that 2023 Ngannou is better than 2022 Whyte and more importantly, 2014 Chisora. Post-Wlad Joshua wouldn't take out a fresh Chisora early (or at all), so why is he going to take out a much bigger, more durable and more powerful Ngannou early? He'd be fortunate not to get KO'd himself.

Just another guy we're going to end up waiting forever to see fight again. He's an instant cash cow. I bet everyone in the division wants to fight him.

Why? Ngannou looks to have a proven chin. You can have those and not be a boxer you know.

All he has to do is beat him uncontroversially without getting knocked down in the process and he one ups the fighting fatman.

Question for boxing historians: which heavyweight in boxing history has anything resembling Ngannou's collection of attributes?

    Ngannou’s attributes (pre-Fury)

    6’4, 83 inch reach, 272 lbs ripped

    Phenomenal clinch fighter

    Switch hitter

Big power in both hands, most dangerous puncher in MMA history, has held the world record on a punching machine since 2018

14-15 years striking experience (MMA and boxing)

    Lineal UFC heavyweight champion

Iron chin, never dropped or stopped in 21 MMA/kickboxing fights

Pressure on experienced boxers not to get beaten by an MMA fighter in a mega event

Easy to underestimate (17-3 MMA fighter, 21 months inactive, 0-0 as a boxer, outstruck by D. Lewis and Gane, gassed badly against Miocic 1, only one win past 10 minutes in 21 MMA/kickboxing fights)

    No boxing footage to study

Even though the last two points no longer apply to the same degree, Ngannou now has 10 rounds of competitive experience against the lineal champ, increased confidence and a greater fear factor.

Can't see it. Hearn was talking about Charr/Kabayel as realistic options for December/January.

For me N'Gannou isn't going to change much, he just might have a few big fights with AJ and Wilder and maybe a Fury rematch. Could be good in the sense it'll keep those active and give a shot to proper up and comers.

To be frank because there are a few big money names in the division, half the up and coming contenders are being locked out of the title picture and will be side stepped in a MI ute to make way for AJ or Wilder etc.

Yeah it's this all the way. Fury thought he could roll off his couch and drag Ngannou into deep waters after 3-4 rounds.
That simply didn't happen, Ngannou showed decent stamina and was landing cleaner shots.
I think Fury did get exposed to the casuals claiming he was the GOAT, which was laughable.
I think the likes of AJ might fancy his chances against Ngannou, although confidence levels are still unresolved.
Not sure Fury follows through with Usyk, the myth is based on being unbeaten, once that goes his resume can be seen for what it is, smoke and mirrors.

Let's wait until he beats a top 10 or even top 15 guy. Time isn't on his side either.

The reason why they want a fight with Ngannou is that he is beatable, but he brings money because he has confidence because he thinks that after a good performance against Fury, he can beat anyone.

Lol! Well if he takes too much time he’ll be going on 40 by the time a big fight is made.

It’s actually laughable how so many are talking about him like he has nothing but time on his side and will improve more and more from here. Lol Like he’s this young up and comer  Not that all the other top guys are spring chickens… but at least the sport to them at this point is 2nd nature.
