Jake Paul Phony Fights Discussion

two guys who are nowhere in actual boxing

 

I see that Jake Paul is fighting a guy called Andre August next he has a record of 10-1 (5KOs)
August is 35 years old and has had 1 fight in the last 4 years so I am not expecting much from him.

At least hes a professional boxer.

If we're being honest, thats a decent fight for a guy in his 9th fight.

Plenty of proper prospects would be fighting guys at that level in their 9th fight

 

He’s just a bang average boxer who people need to ignore. Plenty of celebrities have boxed before, he’s not special.

 

I have to disagree it is all smoke and mirrors with this kid he is clearly on the juice and now I have read that this guy used to be one of his sparring partners. Nothing is ever on the up and up with these guys.

 

I checked out some footage on the guy, he's not even that good. He's got a padded record, Paul is going to KO him. I think Paul should continue fighting MMA fighters with a name, because his boxing career isn't going beyond sideshow level.

 

Is he as good as actual prospects tend to fight in their 9th fight?

 

Could be, you look at guys like Vargas jr, he just fought a guy with 16 losses (40+ fights) but he sucked and Vargas had an amatuer career while Paul has not. Paul picked this guy carefully, no way he fights a real CW prospect.

 

Jake Paul killed the sport of MMA and we should all applaud him.

All they have left now is that Francis won a couple rounds against Fat Lethargic Fury.

 

Im just saying that lots of decent prospects are fighting "cab drivers" in their 9th fights.

Im not saying Jake Paul will amount to some world champion, b ut in terms of development, this isn't an unusual fight.

Whats unusual is his pay-cheque, which is derived from his online fame.

 

I would have preferred him fight Diaz again. Lol

I said a while ago that if he keeps boxing, he will have to start fighting actual boxers. No more non boxers.

Some sites say it is PPV, and others, including DAZN don't list it as such.

I'll watch a Jake Paul fight if it is free.

Guess should go with what DAZN itself is saying?

I think it has to be a free right since the have the upcoming PPV on Dec 23?
