It seems that the opinion on Graziano varies tremendously. Some guys from back in the day rated him very high. I rarely if ever read here anyone considering him a Great fighter or something....

Don't know what to make of the guy, he seems to be one of those guys like Dempsey, I am not comparing them literally, but the aura about them, and how it changed.

Graziano was the typical middleweight of the era. Hard as iron, tough
as old leather, aggressive to the 10th power, punched with the right hand as hard as a mule could kick,
limited total skill set, possibly owned by the mob.

Not really. But exciting to watch as most middleweights were from the 1940's thru
    the 1980's.

No possibly about it. He was owned by Eddie Coco.

A decent fighter in his day, but nothing great. A very fun fighter though.

He wasn't as skilled as Mugabi, but much more determined, Graziano took lickings
    But kept on ticking.
Mugabi was pretty much done after Hagler, against any serious opposition, he began looking for the door.

Curious how you feel about LaMotta, who made a career of fighting welterweights while he was coming in at 160 (or above).

Jake having weight advantages of around 10 pounds, or even more, wasn’t uncommon.

Mugabi ate a ton of huge punches against Hagler. It was one of those single fights that ruins a fighter, actually took a lot out of both. But Mugabi was never close to the same force.

I've seen footage of him fighting Robinson and he looked wild, uncoordinated and off-balance.

Exciting fighter with tons of heart and power, colorful and great to watch because of his flaws and power strengths and weakness + great action

    Lamotta fought some welters.
    He also fought class middles like;
    Basora x3
    Dauthille x2
    Villemain
    Cerdan
    DeJohn
    Yarosz
    Hudson
    Williams
    Lytell
    Marshall
    Bolden
    Welch
    Woods
    Kochan x3
    Mitri
    Hunter
    Raadik

    There is no comparison.
Curious you still cling to this myth.
