https://boxing-social.com/news/shannon-briggs-on-man-who-hit-him-so-hard/ “He was an amazing fighter, one of the greatest of all-times. To be in the ring with him was crazy, his presence, his jab, everything was like ‘damn’.” “He was one of the greats, I was trying to survive and not get killed by George Foreman, he was beating everybody. He hit me so hard I couldn’t believe, I couldn’t sleep for two weeks. He gave me vertigo, he was hitting hard.”
Two things going on here: 1. A bit of hero worship. 2. Taking a page from said hero about complimenting other fighters when asked about them.
Far easier to compliment a men you a) admire b) got the decision over. All-time great jab, generalship, and punching power are consistent with what Briggs is saying.
We know. We all saw your laughable thread. I don't know what's more laughable. Giving round 12 to Briggs, which I've literally never seen anyone do, accuse others of biased when 99% of your posts are an agenda against Foreman, or the sole basis of a scorecard being power punches, as this post seems to imply. Their was a poll a while back, asking if Foreman-Briggs was a robbery and the overwhelming answer was yes. Only one person voted no..... you https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/was-foreman-briggs-a-screw-job.690630/#post-21859602
Foreman landed far more punches, and jabs, and was far more accurate in every criteria including power punches. Unlike you though, I don't base my scorecards solely on ****ing compubox stats. Since "clean, effective power punching" seems to be your sole criteria, I assume you scored Young-Foreman for Foreman? Or does that result stay because changing it doesn't fit our agenda?
