A lot of the guys on here are criticising this 23 December show, correctly in some cases, but it’s a really exciting card, if it all stays together. I’m looking forward to it already and it hasn’t even been announced. OK the Hrgovic and Frank Sánchez fights are poor but the rest is very good. Joshua Wallin, Wilder Parker, Dubois Miller, Makhmudov Kabayel, Bivol Arthur perhaps Opetai as well. It’s going to end up a real magnificent 7 ( or 8 ) and I’m sure will be used as a barometer to compare with other bills in the future.
Yep don't get all the hate levelled at this potential card. As soon as it became obvious Fury v Usyk wasn't gonna happen on that date the Saudis moved on to this concept and although AJ v Wilder is what we all want to see, them both on the same card in more interesting fights than there last bouts, and the additional fights involving Bivol, Dubois and Miller plus more what's not to like!?
Good card, but ridiculous they can't get Wilder and Joshua in the same ring, just rubs salt into the wound that they are both available to fight.
Yes, AJ-Wallin, Wilder-Parker, Dubois-Miller and Makhmudov-Kabayel are all interesting matchups. The rest of the fights are almost formalities, but we do get to watch Bivol, Opetaia, Hrgovic and Sanchez as well. Very good card.
It is a decent card but it just so frustrating once again as a boxing fan. You could make an even better card with the same guys fighting different opponents on the same card.
Apparently it's Mark De Mori. The Aussie that Haye destroyed in a round in his comeback on channel Dave a few years ago.
If Joshua beats Wallin, he ain’t fighting Wilder next. He will fight Hrgovic, which will be for the IBF title.
There's a few poor fights on there, but a fantastic card overall though, looking forward to it. And like people have said it's unbelievable and perplexing how difficult it is to get Joshua and Wilder in the ring together.
Dunno about perplexing, seems quite straightforward in that neither of them particularly want to fight the other. Easy to make fights in boxing regardless of promotional/TV requirements if both boxers want the fight. Look how easy the Fury v Wilder rematches were to make compared to anything meaningful for either fighter since.
the Fury Wilder rematches were mandated in the contract though. I agree they probably don't wanna fight each other, don't want the risk. Yet they both talk about wanting it, and the saudis are throwing serious money for it, before they made money from boxing they must have had cojones at some point, well I know they've had it at some point. So they should show their previous hungry mentality to fight a tough fight together with the huge cheque they are getting and give the fans what they wanna see!
Fury didn’t want to fight Usyk until he got the number he wanted from Saudi. Drives the sort of behaviour we are seeing from AJ and Wilder
