Yeah but I think Parker is motivated because Fury is on his way out of boxing so he doesn't have to worry about fighting one of his best friends, and he has a chance to win belts and make more money so Wilder is going to have a tough time, unless it's all rigged lol

I agree I think people expecting Wilder to have an easy KO just because Parker lost to Joyce.

But Joyce is a completely different style to Wilder, he put alot of pressure on Parker and was non stop punching machine that night.

Wilder is more a like a sniper and is not known for his workrate, so Parker will have opportunities to try and outbox Wilder who has had issues with boxers who are certainly below Parker.

My issue is whether or not Parker really has it in him to pull off the upset, because I've always thought he doesn't quite have that extra gear or mean streak to go to the next level.

But Wilder is close to 40 years old and has not been very active in the past few years, so I wouldn't just assume Wilder is going to have an easy time here.

Any currently top 10 ranked Heavyweight would be in Wilder's top 3.

Probably his best win or close to that. Especially if he cleans his clock early

It'd be his best win by a very, very long way.

Parker's a decent, if a bit boring, contender with one of the best chins in the division and has a pretty decent resume.

Wilder's best win currently is Ortiz, who has a resume so threadbare it'd embarrass most gatekeepers.

This would be a major plus for Wilder's resume if he can pull it off.

It would be his 2nd best win. 2018 Ortiz would UD parker, KO 2017-18 Whyte. He almost TKO'd Wilder.

On top of that, Joyce had a good enough chin to be able to trade... Wilder's been stopped by a guy who's famously not a murderous puncher - he can't afford to trade.

As you say, it's a completely different kind of fight and IMHO one Wilder might well struggle with.

Easily top 3 just below a prime Ortiz. This might be Parker's last hurrah if he loses, but he's still got a bit left in the tank for 1-2 more big performances. Parker is motivated and still has his legs, durability, and wits, so this will be a tough challenge and a worthy opponent for Wilder.

I think the most important thing for Wilder is to simply fight his kind of fight and not get caught up in trying to prove he can KO Parker faster than Joyce or any other such nonsense. Just pace himself, don't chase Parker around in a straight (cut the ring off), throw jabs, body shots, and wait patiently for openings for the big right hand. Time Parker's jab with an overhand counter if possible.

I'd say it would actually be his best win bar none.

Wilder's best wins are Luis Ortiz, Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola.............so yeah Parker would be his best win, not even top 3...........# 1

Wilder really has a very poor resume..............sheesh

Wilder’s resume is paper thin and that’s undeniable. Apart from Ortiz (really only in the first fight as in the second he was much further along the road), Parker would be his best win. Stiverne was always average, Arreola is solid, and Breazeale is very poor. Deontay needs some big wins to be remembered as a great heavyweight.

On proven ability - yes. It would be his best win. Former WBO belt holder, win over undefeated Ruiz, and then some other solid competition.
On skill level, you could maybe argue Ortiz but he's been smashed by Wilder when in complete control and lost to Ruiz and struggled with Charles Martin.
Wilder would be a favorite but he's had a couple of hard defeats and been inactive.

Arguably his best. Grandpa Ortiz x2 and Stiverne I are clearly his best wins as it stands.

Yes a very battle worn faded J-Park would indeed be his best win in a 46 fight career

And the more bang average Wilder fans think Parker it is, the more pathetic they should consider his current resume to be... Because Parker would be his best by miiiles.
