Its regarded he pushed the #1 in heavyweight to the limit and beyond . Not many people on this planet would be able to drop fury and kick his a$$ around the ring .

Yes is strange but it happened

Your comparison is flawed : both boxing and kickboxing are old and mature sports, especially boxing.

MMA is a very young sport, so Lesnar winning a title when the sport was still immature is not that bad.

However, Ngannou beating Fury is bad, especially when you know that Ngannou didn't know anything about combat sports not far from his 30 years old. Not only that, but he came from a knee injury and was more inactive than Fury and still beat him. He's also older than Fury to make the situation even more laughable.

Ngannou also had to deal with way more stringent drug testing than Fury ever did when he was in the UFC, so we know that he can have such a shape under stringent drug testing at least. Drug testing in boxing is very weak compared to what UFC does with USADA.

Everything considered, Ngannou is not comparable to Lesnar.

Another way to look at it is the WBC "#1" fought the #584 and barely won.

Hmm, probably not worth concerning myself with the WBC rankings at all. They seem like a bit of a joke now you mention it.

Its the best ranking system that can be bought, if you know what I mean.

What a farce. An 0-1 fighter ranked #10. Embarrassing

Let's be honest for a minute - after whooping the WBC champion and getting robbed, he should've been installed as the WBC #1 contender.

Boxing is dead. Just accept it and you'll feel better.

Boxing rankings are a load of ****. There's a bloke who's had 3 pro fights and he's ranked No2 and going for a world title.

    It's all money and BS.

Pereira basically just repeated what Lesnar did. I hardly believe N'Gannou looks clean but he's never failed a test so who knows.

I don't see any issue with this ranking

Lost a SD against the lineal HW champ that many casuals felt he should have won, looked better than anybody has against Fury incl McDermott. . .

#10 ranking is just fine. I reckon his next fight will be against somebody with a similar ranking position

There are far less deserving top 10 ranked HW'd out there across the alphabets

Hey, good for Francis, he kind of earned it, he should probably be up to 5th, after all...... he just beat the lineal heavyweight children of the world. I mean, one fight in and he already has a better resume than Hrgovic, Makhmudov and Bakole combined.

Thats the point . How many of the other top 10 would give fury such a nightmare ngannou did that evening ?

And if this is strange :

a 5 fights hw fighter with only one noteworthy opponent in this 5 fights gets a shot for undisputed ?? What a joke is this ?

Good I agree, he arguably scored a draw against the WBC Heavyweight Champion.

Ultimately, what else can they do with him if he chooses to stay in boxing? He's too old to start from a low rank, I'm looking forward to some high profile match ups to see what he's capable of.

Too old to start off a low rank?

Since when does being older entitle a fighter to a higher ranking?
