Is anyone else worried that an upset will rob us of AJ v Wilder??

The fight doesn't need any more marinating. It's long overdue and I hope they both get chinned for not making it happen when they could have.

 

It'd probably be better. If they are even, they'll take forever to negotiate like when they both had the belt. If one of them is starting a losing streak then they would probably be more willing to take on the fight without it being 50/50

 

The only thing that will block a Joshua-Wilder fight happening next is ...

* Joshua winning against Wallin (which is supposed to happen) ...

* Joshua getting ranked #2 by the IBF (which will happen if Joshua wins, because Wallin is currently the IBF #2) ...

* The IBF stripping the winner of Fury-Usyk for agreeing to a rematch (which the IBF has already said they'll do) ...

* And Hearn saying a vacant title fight for Joshua is more important for Anthony than a Wilder fight (which Hearn has already said.)

In other words, Joshua isn't fighting Wilder next, win or lose. Hearn is just using both Wilder and Joshua's heads on a big billboard to sell the December Joshua fight.

Everyone has already tipped their hand as to what's going to happen.

Joshua beats IBF #2 Wallin, waits for the winner of Fury-Usyk to be stripped by the IBF in the spring, and fights Hrgovic for the vacant IBF belt, probably around June.

Even at 38, Wilder isn't old enough for Joshua to fight yet.

 

Both guys have tough fights, but if they can't get through them then it shows their true level. Usyk Fury is the biggest fight in the division, Wilder vs Joshua lost its sparkle long ago.

 

No; i hope they both lose, serves them right for not just making the fight in the first place

 

Joshua-Wilder gets less interesting by the year and if somebody spoils the party even more by beating one or both of them, so be it.

 

Glad to see that many feel the same way as I do regarding this stale topic. I expressed my view in the Deontay Leshun Wilder vs. Joseph Dennis Parker Lupesoliai thread, post #14 earlier today. I'll repeat most of it below... with extra emphasis.

I hope Joe beats Dosser even if that lowers the chance of AJ vs. DW. I'm very tired of the several years "who's ducking who" dance between AJ & DW

Let them both lose and have a losers bracket bout for modest money. Would be justice served for them and their promoters

I'm hoping for the double upset.
I think there's a decent chance of at least one upset.
Wallin could outlast/out-tough Joshua. Parker might just go all out, thinking this is his last big fight, and maybe he connects some big ones.
Getting both is a bit of an ask though.
But one should be enough to destroy AJ/Wilder as the loser goes on another 'rebuild'.

If Joshua loses to Wallin then they may cash him out vs Wilder in several months. Otherwise I agree, they'll go down the vacant IBF title route again.

 

Joshua can lose to anybody at this point, hence they’re feeding him shot old retired vikings and jelly fisted factory workers.

Now suddenly he’s in with a prime live heavy for the first time in about ten(?) years, on a Frank Warren show, with Fury choosing the opponent, yeah I can see him losing for sure.

Not. For the Battle AJ Vs. Wilder we've already been robbed. Robbed in the sense that it COULD have been a fight for the undisputed and undefeated HW Champion. And even, which is unlikely (to put it mildly), that Bosser history will go in the direction that the fight AJ Vs. Wilder is fighting for the undisputed champion; he will not be undefeated.
