I did not know Graziano had such close ties with the NY Mob, which was naive since I knew he was a italian-american from Brooklyn...
So, what are the list we are talking about here ? Sure, we all watched Raging Bull.... I know Ike Williams was somehow managed by Blinky Palermo....

but who else and what type of involvment we are talking about ?

People say that, but nobody ever goes further on this.. I am not talking about crooks managing boxers, I'm talking about actual organized crime and especially the Mafia, the Cosa Nostra. Corrupt and greedy managers are one thing, Mafia guys are another one...

Yes.... or irish-mobsters in this case. Organized crime, I meant. Like, for example, in football Pablo Escobar had a piece of Atlético Nacional back then in Colombia.

I don't mean your regular corrupt managers that rip people off or take some bribes...
    I did this because, to me, it sounds like the legend is bigger than the reality in Boxing, and the cases of actual gangsters having a hand in the sport are more occasional than the rule even in the old days (at least in the sense of fixed major fights);

i'd agree that the legend is bigger than the reality. in terms of fixed fights especially.

i've been trying to write a post about the kinahan stuff but it always reads like a conspiracy theory. it's obvious as **** but what can you actually say?

Yes. Like the Liston death "he was afraid of needles", okay... "the cops came there only a week after"... okay... but deaths don't work that way, people seem to believe that deaths, especially suicides, have this logical explanations, and in a lot of cases they don't.

There is a video out there where Sammy The Bull talks about the involment of the Gambino family in Boxing..... he talks about Renaldo Snipes and Francesco Damiani.....
In the end, the conclusion I get is that they actually did nothing in Boxing, not really......

i have no strong opinion either way on if liston was murdered. it is far from impossible, but i don't see any link to his boxing career, big scary men who need money tend to make the friends who kill people.

marco pantani was an italian cyclist who met a very similar fate, conspiracies abound there too.

Rumors were rife that Babe Risko, Virgil Akins and Don Jordan were mobbed up. Who knows to what extent?

    Coley Wallace.
Basilio had ties to the mob via Joey DeJohn his manager,I believe he himself kept his distance.
Lloyd Marshall did "business" but I dont know if it was directly with the mob?
    Lee Oma via Bill Daly
Johnny Saxton,or was it Johnny Bratton ? I can't remember off the top of my head.
    Clarence Henry.
    Jersey Joe Walcott.
    Jim Braddock
    Max Baer
    Gus Dorazio
    Don Jordan
    Johnny Wilson
    Billy Fox
    Ike Williams

Tyson Fury is the biggest today. Daniel Kinahan is a mobster and on the international most wanted list.

Fury was actually denied entry into the United States last year because of his ties with Kinahan.

That's bigger than anything that happened in 30s, 40s and 50s with Carbo and Palermo. They weren't international fugitives.

Not exactly managed during his career, but Barney Ross was rumored to be working as an errand boy for Al Capone prior to turning pro.

What ties are those ? If Fury only knows the guy, that's nothing, did this guy manage Fury ?
