I Despise Featherfists

Once it approaches female boxing territory of smacking each other with pillows, I mentally check out. No stakes.

 

Featherfists perform the worst in crossover sports, and nonboxers perform the best against Featherfists. In a bare knuckle brawl they would also perform the worst. They give boxing a terrible reputation. See Mayweather not able to put a dent in a youtuber

 

I overall agree , calling him featherfisted is a bit stretched.

He has appropriate punching power for cw but below average for hw .

From the "top 4" ( fury , usyk , wilder , aj ) he is the weakest puncher , i guess the same is true in regards to zhang .

 

And wannabe purists will try to say it’s masterful defensive boxing. It’s not. It’s simply refusing to engage.

They should look up what the Marquess of Queensberry rules say about clinching then since they are such purists unless they are under the mistaken impression that these guys are fighting under London Prizefighting rules of the 1800's

As for Shakira Twitterson's running, the best way to express your displeasure is not to tune in or buy any PPV they put him on (which I am sure they will)

 

I mean that most probably zhang has more punching power than usyk

 

Pernell Whittaker wasn't much of a puncher, but he was truly a pleasure to watch. Watching him ply his trade was like watching a craftsman go to work.

Sweet Pea will always be one of my all-time faves.

 

Think he was saying Zhang punches harder than Usyk. Which is true, Zhang is definitely one of the hardest hitters at the moment. Wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if he actually punches harder than Wilder even. A lot of the guys Wilder fought as champion had been dropped or stopped before challenging him, meanwhile Zhang made a durable guy like Joe Joyce taste the canvas for the first time as a pro, and in three rounds at that. Doesn't hurt he has a hell of a lot more weight to put behind those big bangs either

Not true. All those Featherweight championships almost all had great KOs with Lara, Lopez, Wood, Warrington and Conlan.

 

It sounds like your saying Zhang is like Usyk and lacks punching power.

 

No . I meant usyk is the weakest puncher of the 'top 4' and also weaker than zhang .

I hear ya man. I once threw a fight party for a Haney match and just about everyone including me was completely bored of it by the 4th rd. I was pretty embarrassed and I’m sure none of those guys watch boxing now because of that. I did invite one friend to watch Ortiz vs Kavaliauskas with me and he’s been pretty obsessed with boxing ever since. Thank God for offensive machines!

 

It really shows that punch power is some genetic voodoo when you see these guys train punching for 20+ years and they still have feather dusters.
