    Holyfield vs Valuev.

    What a ****show that fight was. They cherry picked a shot to pieces Evander, only to have the clumsy russian punch air all night, while the fossil schooled him.
    Luckily for the managers, the judges had filled out the scorecards pre-fight.

    I only count fights I saw in person as ‘live,’ and while I’ve attended many cards like from club shows to big championships, I can’t think of any super bad decision I witnessed with my own eyes.

    Yeah, there were probably a fair few club show decisions where a hometown guy won a six-rounder that I saw as 4-2 the other way, but they were at least competitive fights and not just complete dominations by the guy who ended up losing.

    I think the crookedest or at least worst thing I can think of seeing live was Azumah Nelson stopping Lupe Suarez. Lupe was surely winning (at least in my eyes), boxing well, and iirc Azumah clocked him with a hard sucker punch after the bell that had him out on his feet. He didn’t recover and Nelson stopped him the next round. It was a bad foul and at least as I remember it, it seemed premeditated.

    Left a bad taste but what’s there to do? Azumah retained and moved along. It’s a shame, but no guarantee Lupe wins if that doesn’t happen either.

    Really? I rooted for Chavez and still thought he lost. When I see the fight now I think Whitaker won it by an even more comfortable margin.

    Toney-Tiberi. However when I watched it sometime after that, I don't think it was as big a robbery as when I saw it live. In fact I think I may have even had a it a draw or thought it could go either way. I have to watch that one again.

    Its curious but I ordered a book named Boxing in New Jersey, back in 2007 or 08 when as boxing media, i could receive boxing books for free...while I highly recommend the book, the author failed miserably at the end in that he did not mention the 80s and 90s casino boxing boom in Atlantic City at all.

    In 1982 and 1983, Atlantic City hosted, among others, world title fights including Marvin Hagler, Wilfredo Gomez, Michael Spinks versus Dwight Muhammad Qawi which was a world title unification between two hall of famers, Aaron Pryor, Jeff Chandler, Larry Holmes...plus non title fights involving Alexis Arguello, Claude Noel (vs. Arguello) and Juan Laporte. Later, Macho Camacho, Mike Tyson, Vinnie Paz, Foreman-notably against Gerry Cooney, Evander Holyfield and the Briggs fiasco-Donald Curry, Roberto Duran, Iran Barkley et al came.

    Ray Mancini returned in 1989 for his fight with Camacho; he had faced Alexis Arguello in Atlantic City in 1981 but that was a bit outside the time frame I mentioned above, and he did not come to the Arguello fight as a current or former world champion.

    You are right i miss it too, Atlantic City was Las Vegas east....

    I havent seen Pacquiao vs Horn

    But I saw Bradley-Pac 1 and Pac mugged Tim, Im sorry, I love Tim and Im a big fan of both, but its true. Bradley vs Provo..that was one of the last true boxing classics Ive seen, IMO.

    Depends where you were sitting or how beers you had I suppose.:D

    For example, I had a cracking seat for Fury vs Chisora 2- only a few rows behind Frank Warren. The co-main event was a good, close scrap between Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jnr. I had Saunders edging it. I don't see the need to score it again on TV, and I never did, as I could hardly have had a better seat, so even if my card was different, surely my 'live' card counts more?
