These guys have sparred often & fought twice in amateurs. I expect Wallin to beat A.J. . Otto has stamina & skill but if A.J. can spark him in violent fashion that will give A.J. the confidence & momentum that he will need to beat Wilder. A.J. being afraid of Wilder will not help him in the Wallin fight.

    Wallin UD

If you want to sprinkle some boxing politics realism, AJ by UD due to corrupt judge scoring. I predict Wallin is going to make Joshua look like dog excrement on the sidewalk and expose him via outboxing him for 12 rounds. We probably remember the last time AJ fought a slippery southpaw and how that went.

Not unlikely that Wallin will merit a UD win only to have the judges deny him the decision.

But the ranks of AJ apologists are thinning and I believe that if this does happen, Hearn will move to cash out AJ with a fight against Zhang.

Although I wouldn't rule it out. I'd actually be surprised if that happened. Joshua is so universally disliked that he's become illogically under rated. He should have more than enough for Wallin and I'd imagine he probably wins pretty easily.

Usyk and Wallin are leagues apart though.

Yeah stylistically I think Wilder actually has the tougher fight. Although I think he wins through (possibly with a couple of dicey moments).

You think Wallin is on the same level as Usyk? That's like comparing a Camero with a Ferrari. Yeah, they both have 4 wheels and an engine.

Usyk is a significantly better fighter than Wallin. But AJ's circumstances (and likely means) are different now than when he fought Usyk.

I doubt AJ fears Wallin's power. Under pressure to produce an early KO, he could tire/punch himself out and be forced to trade rounds (at best) the rest of the way. The outcome could well be an ugly/contested decision win. Wallin is a younger man, hasn't taken near the punishment, has good size, and has a good-ish gas tank.

He could win easily - if he chose to. But I think he's under considerable pressure to produce a KO against a live body. Fury didn't stop Wallin, so a stoppage by AJ would be the good-looking result. And AJ desperately needs one. A comfortable UD isn't going to cut it because while Wallin is a good boxer - he's not considered a hurtful, dangerous opponent.

So he could get desperate in pursuit of that needed KO and give Wallin numerous chances to score. I'd be shocked if Wallin stops AJ, but I wouldn't be surprised if Wallin makes AJ look bad.

Wallin not without a chance here but if the narrative for this card is to showcase Joshua and Wilder so they can fight each other next, Wallin will want - perhaps even need - to win clearly.

I've just watched Wallin vs Gassiev, and I wasn't impressed by Wallin. He looks like a dude who has just started boxing. He doesn't have a knock out instinct. (By the way, this is a proof what a terrible boxer Gassiev is)

AJ brutally knocks him out in 5.

The only people that have ruined the AJ vs Wilder fight.....are AJ and Wilder.

Do either of them really need another build up fight? No.
